How to choose an area rug that will stand the test of time
Definitely go for a hand knotted rug. These rugs will not be damaged easily through time. Machine made rugs contain some plastics which lead to easy wear.
Also, since a hand knotted rug is made out of natural colors, not only will its colors not fade out, but they will become polished over time. Keep in mind though for high traffic areas in your home, don't buy a rug with bright colors or high resolution.
