Hi Hubbers,
I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process. Will you please give feedback on my article? What can I do to improve?
The first moderator suggested removing the Amazon link to the book listed as my source, which I did. When it still didn’t pass, I removed a link to a recipe for Mexican elote (which wasn’t really soammy but maybe it looked like it was). It STILL didn’t pass. Not a clue what to try next. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks!
Here is my article: "Corny" Rituals Stand the Test of Time
It is an interesting article. The only thing I can see is that you have a couple run on sentences. A couple more sentences could possibly be better shorter.
The history of corn and definition of the word may be a bit problematic. The word corn is recorded in the Bible many times over, confusing readers who do not know the definition. (Historical records often face this problem. Viva scholars who study out languages for us!)
Corn is a term covering a group of grains (wheat and other grains) that humans ate. This usage stands firm in England today. One way to say it could be that maize is part of a group of foods called corn, though when referring to maize it is common to refer to it in specific terms using the word corn (grain) that describe what sort of maize is being referred to/cooked/eaten.
That said, American idioms for corn can be quite fun. "There are more people in the zoo today than corn in Egypt!" "CIty slickers should be careful about underestimating cornfed wisdom."
You mention "scientists," so you need to cite that at the bottom of your article. I kept thinking, who is the audience? You don't need so many photos - this might help - https://hubpageshelp.com/content/Learni … -image-use
Thanks very much everyone. It turned out the problem was an errant Amazon link that I thought I had removed (but obviously hadn't...). Featured now!
