Would you have your coal stoker replaced with an energy efficient oil burner?

I am having work done to my home through a borough HUD Grant and I have the option of switching out my coal stoker (which is in good shape) to an energy efficient oil burner.  I pay $190 for a ton of coal and I burn between 7 & 9 ton a year.  Coal is cheaper than oil, but would I benefit by switching?  Just looking for other opinions and thoughts on cost.  Thanks.

Yes, I would definitely switch if I were you. In the long run, oil will tend to become cheaper than coal, and coal burning is far worse for the environment. Check to see if you can qualify for any Federal, state, local or utility company subsidies or rebates to help pay for greater energy efficiency.
