Depending on the needs the equipment is to be used for  as many different situations require different equipment. If they are just watching a driveway the equipment would be totally different say a system that is needed to cover a whole backyard and front of a home. Without knowing what is needed it is impossible to answer this question. We try to suit and match up our clients need. We are not here to over sell or push a product line that is more expensive when a lower end more affordable system can do the same thing and have an even better outcome.

    1) 12-guage shotgun. I would recommend a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500. Buckshot ammo: this was you don't have to worry about rounds going through the walls and into your neighbor's house. Also works great when you lose your fine motor function (adrenaline) and is easier to aim in low light.

    2) alarm system, i.e. ADT, Brinks.

    3) reinforced (solid) front door and master bedroom (and/or youngest child's room) door with commercial hinges. A sturdy deadbolt is a must. This door can be broken down but it buys you several minutes.

A dog.  Nobody is getting into our house without inciting bloodshed.
