I live in the northern section of the USA, and our robins appear in April and leave by mid October. They overwinter in the southern states, and they're the first sign of returning spring in our section of the country! They usually return about the same time the forsythia blooms.
Thanks leahlefler. Wondering if there's 'across the oceans migration here', or if the robins move around their own continents. I'm in Tuscany and our first robin turned up on the yellow leaved vines outside our window October 18th. He/she/they will be around till the spring. Wonder where to find out more? I've always wanted to know where they go here, not sure if they go to New York!
