How does a farm Become Organic
Interesting subject, never actually knew how it works
I would refer to this USDA link that covers organic produce certification.

Are you wanting to just be organic, or certified organic. There is a difference....a $1000 difference.
We are an organic farm, and have no intentions of becoming certified. We looked into it, but it is not cost effective for us. It would have been $1200 for the first year, and then $900 or so every year after that. Now, why would I pay so much money to a third party so they get rich. Not going to do it.
I say, we are organic, and anyone is welcome to come visit the farm, and pick bugs with us.
I'm not into paying more money to the government, or anyone else that I have to just to "prove" something.
