What trees will grow under pine trees?
I understand that many plants won't survive under pine trees due to the oils in the needles. Which sorts of trees can thrive? Particularly in the Northeast US.
Acid loving plants like Azaleas, Rhododendron and my favourite Camellias.
I’ve read that cold hardy Camellias can be grown in the Northeast of the US of A.
I am a fan of both huckleberry and blueberries and both should grow under a pine tree... Both love acidic soil and are somewhat shade loving too.

Pine tree bark getting stripped away?Something is peeling the bark off of the top of my clients pine trees, toward the top of the tree. It’s like an animal is stripping the tree from the top down. What do you think it could be?
