The closing is just like it sounds. The escrow officer has all the documents and funds in order as agreed upon in the purchase agreement. All of the documents are signed by the buyer and seller. The transaction is closed.
The closing is usually the easiest part of the buying a new home. By the closing, everything should be in place, and you just have to sign the papers and take possession of the keys to your new home. Don't try to make last minute demands in the closing. That should have been taken care of earlier in the process.
