What is the fix for too high of water pressure in the home?
I have high water pressure at all my faucets. But, only when you turn it on then, the pressure returns to normal. What do I need to do?
Install or have a plumber install a PRV, or pressure-reducing-valve, at the point where your water pipe enters your house. This will limit the pressure to acceptable levels. The normal pressure range for homes varies between 40 and 70 psi. Recommendations are that you should install a PRV if your water pressure is 100 psi or greater.
You can have the pressure tested first to understand what your current situation is and then go from there.
All about testing your water pressure and water pressure regulators for controlling home water pressure to prevent repairs and water wastage. Includes how to adjust and install a water pressure regulator on threaded pipe systems. read more
