Can you use plate ("biscuit") joinery on an exterior door frame?
I intend to build a frame & panel door for a workshop. Has anyone ever assembled such a frame using plate joints rather than the standard commercial door mortise & tenon? How well did it work for you?
Thanks, Bruce. I think I'll try it using three plates per joint, staggered. That should approach a complex tenon joint in strength and stability. If it doesn't work, well, it's only a door. I'll just make another.
