Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Positive thinking really has a great power in it driving us to success, burning desire does work for success, and NLP really works in changing the way we experience our lives. There are many more books which I think are really useful for us who like to see some meaningful success in our lives. Many of these books are very effective they have the real power to change our lives. But that is not happening. We still procastinate, we still lack the discipline to complete important tasks on a daily basis. We still are unable to maintain positive thinking. Somehow, it is very hard to us to just follow the advice given by these books....why?
There may be many reasons for this failure. But GAD, generalized anxiety disorder is one reason that I think very much responsible for our inability to change our lives. The main symptom for GAD is living in continous worry. Looking for something to worry about in any type of situation is one of the main reasons for this problem. Worrying about failing when appearing for examinations. Worrying about accident when driving. Worrying about crashing when traveling by air. When the loved ones are late even by few minutes, mind goes into mental rampage to think death by accident. In the person suffering from generalized anxiety disorder, worrying is a habit and mind unconcously looks for something to worry about every moment. Negative thinking is the main cause for worrying, so for anyone suffering from GAD success is not so easy.
Though worrying itself is responsible for the failure in the lives of persons with GAD, there are many other symptoms which you can clearly find acting against the persons' wish to succeed in life. Inability to concentrate due to uncontrolled thinking, inability to relax, feeling tired, sweating, lightheadedness, nausea, difficulty to breath, diarrhea, hot flashes and many more. The degree of GAD is different in different persons. You can clearly see that all or any of these physical and mental symptoms can ruin your plans to cultivate new habits. So before writing down mental, physicial, spiritual, and financial goals, we have to write down a goal for a life without worry and train our brains to cultivate the habit of being relaxed and confident all the time....how can you desire million dollars when you don't have confidence of earning it and keeping it.
There is nothing wrong with the self-help literature. Strong desire does work, NLP does work. It is just difficult working with strong determination when you are thinking negatively feeling weak with diarrhea, sweating, breathlessness, lightheadedness, or simple lethargy, so get rid of GAD whatever the degree may be.
