Barter Bistro 30 Day Challenge-Will the Worm Ranch Be A Reality?

Updated on February 8, 2011

Can I Really Make Something of Nothing?

Just as my Hub Pages writing began by seeing an advertisement on CareerBuilder, I read "craigslist 4 everyone" over the weekend and am intrigued by the endless possibilities. I have been dreaming and talking about a Worm Ranch (Texas term) since February ever since I read a book about retirement living. Craigslist has over 10 billion (that is correct with a "b") page views a month and the many different facets of it are just amazing.

We have found and sold a few great things on Craigslist and now I wonder if bartering would be interesting. Hubby said that it sounds like I am trying to make "something of nothing". Why "Yes!" I do believe he gets it. Over the next 30 days, I will take my things a few hats from hubby's hat collection (already approved) and see what happens. I will trade upon trade and see what I can get of value until Sunday, October 24th.

There is a bartering legend that someone eventually bartered a paperclip for a house. Shew wee! I just want a few thousand or more worms at my "ranch", veggies maybe, maybe my El Camino painted, and I am sure other stuff along the way. There is much time to brainstorm in my travels to and from work and add that to my pretty big imagination, and we'll have us an adventure. I am up for some great Lucy and Ethyl moments along the way and just can't wait.

The Project will be called~~Barter Bistro. There will be something new happening with this project everyday.

I will be reading now that I have found your series. Good luck. (aware this was a past post I still have only seen the first two days...

      Basically this is

      Anything you have...

      Really, absolutely ANYTHING !

      That someone

      Else is willing to

      Recycle

      Burrowing through

      Internet sites for trades

      Searching the house for goods

      Tensely negotiating with

      Recyclers everywhere

      Online

Had to recycle your title ... *smiles*
