Foundation for Your Future Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship: $500
Deadline: 8/1/2018
The Foundation for Your Future Scholarship is open to any current student who graduated from high school in 2018 OR is a current student at an accredited two or four-year college.
Eligibility:
- Have a current GPA of 3.0
- An essay is required
- Must be a current United States or Permanent Resident
- Will need your most recent school transcripts
- Current proof of college enrollment
- A photo ID

Altitude Comfort's Annual Career in the Trades Awareness Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship:
1st Place: $1,000
2nd Place: $250
Deadline: 8/1/208
This scholarship requires an essay regarding high school students who are planning to go into a trade rather than to college. But scholarship applicants don't have to be going into a trade and can be headed to college and still apply for this.
The essay is about whether or not high school students planning on learning a trade should be able to earn credits toward their vocational degree while still in high school like college-bound students can earn college credits in high school. The essay needs to be 1,000 - 1,500 words.
Eligibility:
- You must be 18 or older
- You must be currently enrolled in a US-based college or university

2018 Veteran's Children Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship: $1,000
Deadline: 8/1/2018
This scholarship is available to children of US veterans who live in certain US States (see below for eligibility).
Eligibility:
- You must be a resident of one of the following New England states: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut or Massachusetts.
- You must be a US resident
- You must be a natural or adopted child of an honorably discharged US service member. The service member could have served in ANY US military branch.

Hemophilia BioMatrix Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship: $1,500
Deadline: 8/1/2018
The Hemophilia Biomatrix Scholarship is for people with hemophilia or their immediate family members. These scholarships are sponsored by the Biomatrix company and the Hemophilia Federation of America. There are six scholarships available for people with hemophilia, and out of the six, two include eligibility for family members.
Eligibility:
Scholarship applicants must
- Be a US resident
- Been accepted or are currently enrolled in an accredited technical school, college or university
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 during their senior year of high school or their most recent year of college
- Have hemophilia or be related to a father who has hemophilia

- BioMatrix Educational Scholarship
The Biomatrix Educational Scholarship is for hemophiliacs and their family members.
Patsy Takemoto Mink Foundation Education Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship: $5,000
Deadline: 8/1/2018
Named after Patsy Takemoto Mink, this scholarship is available to single mothers to help them further their education.
Eligibility:
- Must be a woman of at least 17 years of age
- Must be a mother with minor children
- Must be enrolled for the upcoming school year in a GED or ESL program, or a skills training program, or pursuing a degree from a vocational or technical school, or pursuing an associate's degree, bachelor's degree or a professional degree such as a Master's degree or Doctorate.
- Must be a low-income family. Parameters for that classification are having an annual income of less than $20,00 for a family of two, less than $24,000 for a family of three, and less than $28,000 for a family of four.

The Best Foot Forward Scholarship
Amount of Scholarship: $1,000
Deadline: 8/15/18
The Best Foot Forward Scholarship is sponsored by the Grant Law Office. The scholarship is not renewable and is for $1,000 only.
It requires an introductory paragraph of 100 to 200 words, and then an essay of 500 to 1,000 words. The subject of the essay is how you hope to leave your mark on this world, and needs to include information about how a college education will help you reach that goal or goals.
Eligibility:
- You must be a US resident
- You must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
- You must be planning to attend college to get a post-secondary degree after graduation, OR are already enrolled in college studying for a two-year or four-year degree.

Pursuit's Inaugural Scholarship Competition
Amount of Scholarship:
$1,000 (4 scholarships)
$500 (4 scholarships)
Deadline:8/1/2018
This scholarship requires the creation of a video which is five minutes maximum, or write an essay which is a maximum of 2,500 words on one of the topics listed on the website below.
There will be four winners of the $1,000 scholarship, and four more will receive a $500 scholarship as runners-up.
Eligibility:
- You must be an incoming college freshman, sophomore or junior who is enrolled in an American community college, four-year college or four-year university.

Amount of Scholarship: $1,000

This scholarship is available to single mothers to help them further their education. The beauty of this scholarship is that it is not only for single mothers have a high school diploma, but those with a GED are also eligible to apply.
The scholarship application will require an essay of between 1,200 and 1,500 words.
Eligibility:
- You must be a single mother who has custody of at least one child under the age of 18.
- You must be a US resident
- You must have a high school diploma or GED
- You must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year college
- You will need to include an unofficial copy of your high school or college transcript

This college scholarship is fairly easy to apply for and includes filling out an application and requires a brief essay of 150 words or less.
Eligibility:

- You must be a permanent resident of the US
- You must be currently in college, or planning to be in college in the next 12 months

If you need to find more scholarships that fit you better or are geared toward your major you can find scholarships by using the Google search engine or by purchasing a scholarship guide in the form of a book. The best source I have found is The Ultimate Scholarship Book.
I love this book and have used it for years, starting when I ran the career center at a high school. I find it an amazing source of scholarships. And they have many that are quite specific that I don't include in my list because my list is designed for the general population of college students. And they print an updated version each year so you can get have access to the newest scholarships every year.
