Freebies You Can Get Well.....For Free!

  • Room at the inn. Free lodging for travelers. CouchSurfing.org is a nonprofit organization with more than a half million people around the world who let you sleep on their couch (or spare bedroom) while you're traveling - for free! You can meet people and see the world for free! Check out the website for more information and see if it's something you might be willing to do to save money.
  • Free money. The National Association of Unclaimed Property (NAUPA) is also a nonprofit organization where you can find money which might be due you or your family. This comes in the forms of utility refunds, forgotten bank accounts, security deposits or inheritances but you never know. NAUPA estimates that 1 out of 8 Americans is entitled to something that is unclaimed and that's just waiting for them to find. Go to unclaimed.org and see if you're one of the lucky ones! Also check out TreasuryHut.gov for savings bonds which are unclaimed. You never know!
  • Put on your birthday suit. Well, actually leave your clothes on - but it's your birthday! Many freebies are available to everyone on their birthday.
