You can make money with Google Adsense

Updated on July 1, 2011

Make money with Google Adsense

You can make money with Google Adsense but it's up to you how much you make. First of all some of you may not know what Google Adsense is so I will give a brief explanation. Google Adsense is a free program that you can sign up to which will allow you to place ads on your blog, website and even right here on Hubpages so you can start earning money. Whenever someone clicks on one of those ads, you earn a percentage. But be careful and read through all terms and conditions before signing up. One thing that can get your account banned is by clicking your own ads or asking family and friends to click on the ads.
So sign up with Hubpages and start writing and displaying your ads now! Click here

Can you really make money from Google Adsense?

I know there are a lot of artiles out there on the www about Google Adsense but I feel that I should share my personal experience so far and how successful I am at it.
I signed up for Adsense around the same time I signed up to Hubpages. I have the ads on here and on my blog here. I backlink on Twitter, StumbleUpon, Redgage and She Tole Me. There are plenty more out there that you can use to advertise your hubs and make more traffic but at the moment it's what I use. Because of this I don't get as much traffic as others so don't make as much money.

So have I made money? The answer is yes but don't get too excited about it I'm not rich yet. In the month of May I made .4 cents and last month in June it went up to .12 cents. So far not enough to do anything with right? But if you think about it I haven't put in as much effort as others so that's what I get. If you backlinked a lot more and wrote more interesting hubs and researched etc you would be making more. Hard work is the key to success, there is no secret get rich quick otherwise we would all be millionairs. It's the hard working people that are successful in the end so don't be a lazy sod like me who only writes a hub once in a while, be persistent and you will be rewarded.

So remember the main points

- Do not click on your own ads as Google will ban your acct

- Do not ask family or friends to click on your ads as this will get you banned as well

- Use appropriate key words and backlink to get more traffic

- Write good and interesting content to get more traffic

And of course have fun along the way. There's no point in trying to make money from Google Adsense if you find it boring and a chore to do. Hope this was helpful to you and good luck :)

I believe Google can make money, I'm working on it. I heard you are not allowed to put how much u earn in any article?

I agree that is the only way adsense will work well for you, it's just getting the traffic :)

I think you really need traffic to make good money on adsense

I agree I have it in a few places, I get something but not enough to really say I'm a big success. If you do havea good niche it really can help as well and just getting all that traffic!

      Thanks for reading :)

I know there are people out there who make a LOT from Adsense but I really think it depends on a lot of factors.

I have Adsense everywhere, I started using it 4 years ago when I first signed up with Hubpages. I use it on others sites to and I use Admob/Adsense for my Android apps which is where the most of my Adsense income comes from.

I think it also depends on your niche.

Dwachira Thank you very much. That is true, people who get the traffic has a better chance of earning and I know it does work :)

Sparkster That seems strange that you're not making money if you get thousands of visits. Sorry it's not working well for you but to me it's no effort setting it up here on Hubpages and just leaving it to see what you get.

Tips to be honest me too. I wrote this article and set up my Adsense before I joined the Hubpages earning program so I find that more stable. But once in a while I do get a good click on Adsense to boost my earnings as well. There are some that are very successful with it. Just need to keep working at getting traffic to our pages :)

I haven't had much success with Google Adsense. The Hubpages earnings program has been much better so far.

To be honest out of every money making program I've tried over the last 4 years Adsense have proven to be the most pointless. I get tens of thousands of views per day and rarely make more than 5p. I'm not saying your tips aren't useful, just that any other program on the internet is likely to make a lot more money with a lot less effort.

For now i think Google AdSense is the best way to make money online and especially if one has a lot of followers and visitors. Great article, voted up.

Brett, do you mean the Hubpages ad program? I do use this and I do find I make more from that than adsense myself. But I've made a bit from Adsense as well but I havea far ways to go to cashout.

Also thank you for reading and sharing :)

iefox5 It really depends, if you are successful at getting traffic to your hubs you increase teh chances of someone clicking your ads which makes the money.

Hazelwood you should write an article too. I try to tweak mine once in a while when I have updated info or can add more to things. Thank you for enjoying my article too :)

Sound advice! Do you use Hubpages adverts? I found that when I changed over, I earned far more, but my adsense earnings crashed ... yet, money talks right. I'm tempted to try switching to just adsense adverts for 1 month as an experiment ...

      Shared, up and useful.

Good advice. You really have to be careful about clicking on your own ads, even for testing. Voting this Up and Useful.

Oh I have just signed up for the Ad program to give it a go. We will see how that goes. On my Google Adsense I have $5.55 and need $150 to cash it out. So it's going to be a slow process but I'm getting something at least :)

Google Adsense has been frustrating for me. But just the other day I got a couple of clicks worth $3.00, and that's with the limited Google Adsense on my Hubs due to being in the HubPages Ad Program. I might give Google Adsense another try when I reach my payout threashold with HubPages Ad Program. I like HubPages Ad Program since it's not so random. You get paid for actually traffic.
