Free or Discount Admission on Fun Activities for Tennessee Teachers

Updated on January 6, 2012
Family Day of Fun
Family Day of Fun

As I was checking my Facebook account the other day, a friend from college was all excited about getting a free admission ticket to the Creative Discovery Museum located in Chattanooga, TN. She simply asked if they gave a teacher discount and was thrilled to hear that teachers were granted free admission by showing a valid school ID. My family is all the time looking for fun things to do, but on my husband's teacher salary, it can be difficult to throw down a $100 or more on a day of fun for our family of four. That post inspired me to search the Internet for other places that may offer free admission or discounted offers to teachers. Along with the Creative Discovery Museum, there are several other great deals for teachers to check out in the middle Tennessee area. Read below for a list of the best deals for our beloved teachers:

  • Adventure Science Center in Nashville, TN offers FREE admission with valid school ID.
  • Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, TN is hosting Teacher Appreciation Day Jan.14th, 2012. Teachers along with one guest will receive FREE admission with valid school ID. For more details on this day and to reserve your ticket, click on the highlighted link.
  • Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN offers FREE admission with valid school ID.
  • Nashville Zoo offers $10 off family membership with valid school ID and/or proof of teacher license. If you are not interested in a membership, you can still receive $1.00 off a general admission ticket.

If you have an active Tennessee Educator's Association (TEA) membership card, click on the highlighted link and enter your membership ID number to search for lots of other great offers including:

  • Save up to 30% on movie tickets when you preorder your tickets online.
  • Free admission to the Zanies Comedy Club In Nashville, TN with purchase of ticket of equal or greater value.
  • Free pass to the BounceU in either of their Murfreesboro or Nashville locations with purchase of ticket of equal or greater value.
  • Free admission to the Nashville Opera with purchase of ticket of equal or greater value.
  • Free admission to the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville, TN.
  • Free admission to the Sam Davis Home with purchase of ticket of equal or greater value.
  • Free admission to the James K Polk Home with purchase of ticket of equal or greater value.

Trust me - there are so many more great deals out there for teachers. Our family has taken advantage of the Nashville Zoo membership deal, visited the Tennessee Aquarium, and bounced the day away at BounceU. So anytime your family is in need of a special day of fun, please plan ahead and surf the web for great deals in your area! If you are not the planning type, don't be afraid to ask an employee of the place where you are visiting to see if they offer any special discounts for teachers, military, senior citizens, etc. It never hurts to ask and you will be thrilled to save the extra money to use on your next day of family fun!
