More Smart Families Are Swapping Instead of Shopping
This holiday season, thousands of families are swapping instead of shopping. There's a growing following of swapping families who are looking for value and convenience online. Swapping sites give parents a chance to take their kids' out grown clothes and toys and swap them for something they will need or like.
Swapping sites help parents to save money but still able to give their kids what they want. on Christmas morning and some found that they were able to get gifts at such a good price that they were able to get their kids more gifts then they would have if they shopped in a mall for them.
One of the popular sites ThredUP.com has about 50,000th member and is free to join and they has large selection of clothes and toys even DVD’s video games and more. Check it out here.
There are many other swap sites on the internet that you can check out has well here are just a few of the good ones I found.SwapMamas.com which have many thing you can swap for, here are just a few that they have listed, clothes from baby to teen, books, DVD’s and music and you can even swap coupons and so much more and this site was much more easier to find all the things they have to swap for. Check it out here. And there is Freecycle.org which has members around the world, all you have to do is find your town and see if anyone is swapping anything you need or want and see if you have something they want and all for free no money just a nice even swap, to join is free has well. Check it out here.
With these hard times today every dollar you can save and still get the kids things they want and need at a fair price is what many families are doing today. It has been estimated the this kind of shopping will save families this Christmas season about $ 500.000, but also you can do this kind of shopping all year long so the savings would be much higher.
Another great thing I have see is many people have formed swap groups right in their own town and get together weekly and swap with each other and people who stop by. Also they do sell some of the things they have has well and for a very fair price. If a young mother could save twenty to fifty dollars on baby clothes and even be able to buy more than she could in a store then that makes her a very smart shopper.
I think we will see many more of these online swapping sites in the next few years and you or someone you know may start a swap group right in your own town. Saving money is what it is all about in today’s world, and any way you can do that is more money in your pockets and that makes you a very thrifty shopper.
