Social Bookmarking Sites

Social bookmarking has become a popular strategy of driving traffic to one's sites nowadays. The introduction of Digg, StumbleUpon, Technorati and other similar sites have led to the development of more social bookmarking sites. To date, there are already hundreds of them online. More are being developed everyday. They not only help us gain more friends in the web but also helps drive traffic to our sites. If you are not a member yet, register now in these bookmarking sites as you are missing out big time.

Social Networking Sites

Social networking sites have more interaction between members than social bookmarking sites. Through them,we gain more friends and in this way, we gain more traffic to our sites. We can add a link in our profiles about our other blogs, websites, affiliate programs and get to discuss about it in our blogs. We can also make a group out of the money making opportunities we are a member of. Other social networking sites also share revenue to its members.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is also an effective way of marketing your business online. If you have a blog, you can start sending recent contents of your blog to your friends and attach a backlink to your blogs. They will be curious of what are your activities recently. Make your article titles "catchy". However, just don't overdo it. Maybe at most 5 emails a week. Others send at least 5 everyday and others may find this annoying and too spammy. The technique is to write interesting and informative articles so they will keep on coming back to read your content and most probably will recommend it to their friends.

Forums

So far this is my most effective marketing tool in driving traffic to my blogs online. There is a live interaction between members and they always get curious of what you are up to. Most especially if you are an active member of the community.

Comments

Similar to forums, this is also an effective strategy. You can post comments to blog communities and social networking sites. Most of these sites allow you to attach comments to your posts and in the process, you get links back to your sites.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is a proven and effective method for marketing any site online. Free article sites allow us to submit as many articles as we can and information about us, the author, your work and links to your sites can be appended. They call it the resource box. Once a blog owner uses your article in his blog, you get traffic, most especially if you have interesting articles. Imagine how many blogs are being developed everyday. Just do the Math and surely you will be happy of the results. This can happen again and again. As more and more people visit the article directory and the site where it was republshed, you will gain more and more traffic.

Link Exchange

Since I started blogging, I have been using this marketing strategy already. Many blog owners want to exchange links with each other as this is one way to drive traffic to their sites. This will not only help us gain more friends in the blogging community but will aso increase visits to our sites. To do this, first you can inlude a link in your site to the blog you want to link exchange with. After that, you can write the blog owner or post a comment in one of his posts that you have added a link to his site in your blog. Then ask him to also do the same if he is willing to exchange links with you. If the blog owner is not interested, you have to delete the link to his site right away. On the other hand, if he gives you approval, then you will gain new friends and visitors. The list can usually be found at the right or left side of the blog.

Widget Box

The latest method I have used in marketing my blogs are Widget boxes. They are fun and easy to use as you are provided with a code that you can attach to your profiles in social netwroking sites and comments in blogging communities. The boxes are also attractive so they will surely increase the reader's curiosity about the posts listed. You can also choose colors which blends with the color of your blog. You can get a list by going to google and searching for "widget box"or "widget boxes".
