just don't pay, screen calls and if they call you at work write a professional letter asking them not to call at work. Call your state attorney general to see what your rights are with respect to debt collection in your state.
The previous suggestion seems good at first. If your credit card charges off however, no attorney in the world can help you.
You have better options at your disposal. How did your finances get messed up, do you qualify for hardship with x company?
Can you set up a payment plan?
If you want to avoid the calls. I have a article written on just that, your debts will only add up but if you need a break from the constant reminders then read!
