    It often depends on how your plan is set up. For example if you have a 401k with your company there might be severe penalties, and not to mention taxes, on cash that is withdrawn before a certain term.

    I believe individual pensions you might have with your company or a management firm will be determined based on the requirements of the plan you are in.

    Additionally, federal Social Security cannot be withdrawn until you reach the age of 65.
