Are there any benefits available for a self-employed individual?

An individual who quit his job as a self-employed insurance salesman now is unable to find work.  Are there any benefits he can apply for since he has no income?

Absolutely. Many small and medium insurance companies offer health insurance to individuals. In some cases, individual policies are less expensive than comparable employee health plans. Try going to daveramsey.com and finding an "endorsed local provider." That is exactly what I did about 2 years ago. You can also look in the yellow pages of your phone book. Take your time and look at as many as you can stand. Only give your business to someone who is more interested in doing what's right for you than getting the sale. They do get commissions or 'finder's fees.'

Yes. No stress of work. Work is corruptive and you just kill yourself slowly for the profit of others.

Taxes can be particularly complicated for individuals who are self-employed. Fortunately, people in this situation do have access to unique tax breaks that ordinarily employed individuals cannot use. read more
