Is it difficult to be strong enough to handle the temptations that come with possessing $10...
YES BUT BE BALANCED, HERE TODAY GONE TOMORROW, SPREAD IT AROUND, CAREFULLY, MAKE CHANGE WHERE CHANGE IS BETTER, sorry about capital lock.
Honestly, if I had 10 million I'd blow it.
Not really- sort of.
I'd invest definitely, mostly in real estate, businesses or interest creating accounts.
However, I'd also invest in me! I'd have a great house, no mortgage, no car payment, no student loans, nice clothes, nice furniture.
I'd also DEFINITELY give to charity. I volunteer a lot, so that would be really important to me.
I think so. There are wealthy people who lead decent lives, and haven't gone hog wild. I'd sure be willing to try it! :-)
I think it should be fine...take a deep breath, some time off on holiday then come back and invest it in a wide portfolio of stocks, bonds, real estate and munis and sit back and live off the $400-500k a year income this will generate.
I would love to be able to answer this from experience! As it is, I can only hope. I think I could handle it, but money, they say, corrupts. Or is it power? Either way, I doubt I'll ever find out.
