Is the US Mail System doomed? IF so, what does this mean for Americans?
An online article in today's Us News and world report stated that the US Postmaster was aiming to cut 35,000 jobs from the postal system. In a time when the job index is pretty much disastrous, losing 35,000 government jobs can send the wrong message to the American People about job recovery. This news comes as the last year of President Obama's term approaches its last year.
I am curious to know how other people feel about potentially losing the postal system. Please post comments below.
The whole reason for the US Postal Service still exists.
There is no business model that can effectively deliver mail to every little off-the-beaten path home w/o some government support.
We still have trouble getting cable TV service and Internet service due to living in the boon-toolies.
If it were not for government involvement the big electric, gas, oil, water cos. would not service the boon-toolies because it would be bad ROI.
Now to your question: Who knows if the group intelligence and ability of Congress can handle this knotty situation. Congress sure has done nothing but mess up the last three years.
