What's the biggest reason you have for not investing your money?
As someone who gets excited about stocks, markets, and return rates, I like sharing my excitement with others. However, many people seem to think it's too complicated, too time-consuming, a rat-race, a bunch of crooks running it all, etc. Maybe you only have an IRA, a savings account, or a 401k. What's the biggest reason you have for not investing your money? And in particular, I mean, investing your money on your own merits - not giving it to some banker or mutual fund to do it for you?
The biggest reason is that I don't have any to invest.
I'd love to invest money. So if or whenever I get enough to make it worthwhile, then I'll take plenty of advice on where to invest.
I sincerely don't have any reason why I "shouldn't" invest! In fact, this is my belief: Everyone should first set aside some emergency funds(say anything from $500 upward, based on your annual income). Secondly, start looking for wealth building opportunities(no ponzi schemes). If you take a look at all my financial hubs, you will see that they are geared towards investments.
We need some savings for harder times like if we met with an accident etc. ,It can be very helpful but if you have more money than you must invest it..

I know the stock market is bad, but I'd like to start investing as I know there are a lot of great bargains out there. So if anyone can recommend any published books that they have read themselves, I would appreciate it.
