How do you write during the day with small children at home?
I know many stay-at-home parents struggle to write as often as they intend to with small children around. What tips can you offer to help parents navigate the waters of writing without putting the kid in front of the tv or staying up until the early hours to write when the children are asleep?
If you are really needing to dedicate time to your writing, I would suggest hiring a babysitter or getting at trusted neighbor (or friend) to have a playdate during this time. If money is not a problem, there are some child care centers that have half day programs or 2-3 full day programs. Just a thought.
I normaly write while my 3 year old is at nursery. However I do get time while she is home as I sit with my laptop while she is watching TV once she is home and had her dinner. That's if I don't have to be at work. I write more when she has gone to bed. This is usually after I get in at 9:45pm
