What Are The Least Expensive Colleges?
What are the least expensive colleges in the U.S. or any other country?
Communitiy Colleges. My son went to Community College of Alleghany County (Pittsburgh, PA) at $90/credit and the credits transfer everywhere.
Many people choose a community college because they are relatively inexpensive and convenient (if you can commute from home, you can save money on room and board).
However a community college may not meet your needs, there are a handful of colleges that offer free tuition to every admitted student. They include:
Alice Lloyd College
College of the Ozarks
Curtis Institute of Music
Deep Springs College
Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering
United States Air Force Academy
United States Coast Guard Academy
United States Merchant Marine Academy
United States Military Academy at West Point
United States Naval Academy
Each has its own orientation and admissions requirement (see: http://scholarshipmentor.com/freetuition-colleges)
There are also many colleges that offer full scholarships to some of their students. Others give partial scholarships and financial aid to students lowering their costs dramatically.
Sometimes, the college with the lowest price tag is not the least expensive option (after you take into account financial aid and scholarships). If you want to keep your costs down, your best bet is to look at the whole package.
