How much debt has Obama created?
How much debt did George W. Bush created when he was president?
The commonly accepted figure (though I'll STILL get votes down for quoting them) is that the national debt stood at 10.6 trillion on January 20th, 2009. Through Obama's first term it has grown at roughly 4 billion per day and currently sits at about 15.8 trillion (http://www.usdebtclock.org/) for a total increase of 5.2 trillion dollars under Obama's watch. Figures as of July 1st, 2012. Projections have the national debt pegged at about 16.8 trillion by the official end of Obama's first (or only) term. That means that under his watch, the debt will have grown by 6.2 Trillion dollars. In other words, a number that took America 226 years to reach (which it finally did in 2002 under GWB - no saint himself), will have taken Obama just 4 short years...

I have been watching the Yahoo boards and people are furious at the Republicans, especially the Tea Party. They are getting the lion's share of the blame for the debt downgrade. Here's why:1. Obama wanted a grand plan. The Republicans rejected it.2. Obama wanted shared sacrifice including taxes for...

Is it not a little telling that it comes up at all? Questioning his nation of origin, and in other ways making reference to his race. It seems entirely irrelevant, though a person can definitely question many other things about his policies, and there's plenty of it to question. It seems his...

"The U.S. national debt hit $13 trillion today, a stratospheric number with looming implications for every citizen. With about 309 million people living in the U.S., the average American owns a $42,000 piece of debt — and the 110 million taxpayers owe an even larger chunk per person as the...

Let me be consistent and bring up the topic of our debt, which was doubled under Obama’s 7 years to $20 trillion and now under the first year of the Trump administration is rising to $20.5 trillion. It is Congress’s mandate to control spending. Let’s hope they have some backbone and say no to...
