How Much of A Percentage Should Investments Be In Precious Metals? What Are The Reasons For That?
That depends on the risk level of the individual and the goal and time frame. Most portfolios should have some degee of exposure as a hedge against other assets to lower the portfolios over correlation among assets. Precious metals, particularly Gold have an inverse relationship to the dollar. Considering the monetazation of debt, it is probably wise to have a minumum if 3-5% exposure.
