Didn't follow instructions in Getting out of Debt
You Can Beat Credit Card Debt. How do I proceed?
The debt was made by my adult autistic son with Capitol One for about $7300. I did not follow the advice from the article, because the way the summons read I did not believe it had been turned over to a collection agency. When we came before the judge, he asked my son if he agreed to owing the debt, and my son responded yes. The judge entered a judgement in favor of the plaintiff, and told us to get in touch with the plaintiff to make payment arraignments. My son's income is $506 a mth-Social Security disability and about $75/wk from a par time job. How should I proceed???
