I'm just rereading the story of LTCM, which blew a nice hole in the market back in the 90s.
It was an attempt of mathematicians to calculate what the markets would do.
Why do you think this is a good or bad idea?
(Or any other feedback on the topic.)
My recollection is that it was not the math tht was the downfall of LTCM but rather the overuse of leverage.
