I don't get it. As a Brit, is black Friday about buying for Thanksgiving, or Xmas day? Sounds like propaganda to me. Will people really spend more than last year?

It's the first "official" shopping day for Christmas.

        And congrats on the 100!

There's often so much trouble on Black Friday, that I think they rethink the whole day. Every year someone seems to get shop or maced or something. It's craziness.

Icount:   I saw it on the news.  Shoppers being shot at inside malls, being robbed when coming out from the stores, customers pepper spraying other shoppers due to frenzy over a video game.  It is nuts, and it seems to get worse every year.
