Thomas Jefferson Quotes

Thomas Jefferson

Who is Thomas Jefferson?

Thomas Jefferson was the third president of The United States and was a strong defender of freedom and liberty. He was a major contributor to the founding of our country and author of the Declaration of Independence. Personally, Thomas Jefferson is one of my favorite presidents he is a very educated man and I respect all of his quotes.

The founding fathers of the country knew that freedom worked. Basically, freedom is just giving the people the choice to decide their own destiny. Let the government stay out of the way and let the magic imagination of everyday people take it's course. When you don't regulate peoples lives you allow them to be creative. Instead we are all stuck in a world where we are all worrying about our next bill and not using our creative sides. If people didn't live repetitive lives we would all evolve being able to create and innovate. Take all the bad regulations away and allow people to be creative again. Stop inflating the money supply and putting families on the street. Let gold and silver become legal currency again as we become a richer nation for it.

"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."
Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson knew that if people remained silent the government would take control and manipulate the people. Government wants to just spend and spend money so they have to control the people by taxes them.

"A Bill of Rights is what the people are entitled to against every government, and what no just government should refuse, or rest on inference."
Thomas Jefferson

It seems like everyday The Bill of Rights is being less and less prevalent but I agree with Thomas Jefferson the government should not be allowed to take away our Bill of Rights.

"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around us will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. "
Thomas Jefferson

Jefferson understood monetary policy. He knew that the big bankers wanted to take control of the money supply. He was one of the people fighting the bankers ideas. Jefferson didn't want the banks to take control because he knew they would make things worse.

"We in America do not have government by the majority. We have government by the majority who participate."
Thomas Jefferson

It is true, it is not the majority that created our dwindling republic it was the minority. You don't need a majority to spread freedom, all you need is a minority willing to do whatever it takes. Ron Paul the one politician who is closest to the founding fathers of the US. Even though Ron Paul probably won't be stepping into the oval office he has done so much to remind people of what freedom means. Ron Paul is the Thomas Jefferson of our time.
