Assam

Assam was established in 1912 .The largest city of the state Dispur is its capital.It has 27 districts.Tarun Gogoi of Indian National Congress as the chief minister of Assam has been ruling the state under the governorship of Adi Patel.The legislature in Assam is unicameral having only assembly of sate with 126 assembly constituencies.This state bears 14 Loksabha or parliamentary constituencies. A total area of 78,550 km2 is inhabited by a population (2011) of total 31,169,272. 73.18% people are literate here. Official languages are Assamese (Asamiya),Bengali (in Barak Valley),Bodo (in Bodoland).

The first phase was held on 7th April in 2014 that saw a satisfactory poll of 78.74%.The second phase fell on 12th April that saw a poll of 76.45%.The last phase for Assam Loksabha election was taken on 24 April in 2014 and in this poll Assam saw a decent percentage of 82.26%.
