PROPHETIC WORLD CLOCK - Biblical Countdown for the End of the Current Age

OUR CLOCK represents the last seven years of the "Common Era" (C.E. or A.D. Anno Domini) traditionally reckoned as the era following the conception or birth of Jesus of Nazareth, with C.E. counting the years since the start of this epoch.

THE TIME on the "Prophetic Clock", is shown as "7 minutes 'till Midnight", reflecting the last seven years of this age, which is the point in time that we are rapidly approaching now.

"And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [ Christ the Lord ] is coming; go out to meet him!’" (Matthew 25: NKJ)

This of course referring to the seven years of the "Great Tribulation Period", the final end of this age and the start of the next, the coming Kingdom of Christ on Earth for the next 1000 years. The time on the clock will ONLY change when that day finally arrives; until the final minutes start counting down it will remain at (11:53 C.E.).

This IS NOT the "Doomsday Clock" either (at least not for the "saved" believers), but reflects a time for great rejoicing in the next age that is coming and a message of hope and salvation for the rest of the world; all those who have not found the love and grace of the Lord God yet.

800 Killed in Ivory Coast in One Day: ICRC

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says at least 800 people have been killed during the capture of a major city in the western Ivory Coast. Red Cross representatives had "themselves seen a very large number of bodies," she was quoted as saying by AFP. There is no doubt that something on a large scale took place in this city, on which the ICRC is continuing to gather information," she added.

The day saw forces backing president-elect Alassane Ouattara claiming to have seized the city during an all-out battle with troops loyal to incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo. The West African nation has been in crisis since Gbagbo refused to acknowledge losing November's presidential election to Ouattara.

Al-Qaida Leaders Welcome Arab Uprisings, Says Cleric

Senior al-Qaida leaders have welcomed the uprisings in the Arab world in their first comprehensive statement on recent events, published in an internet magazine earlier this week. Anwar al-Awlaki – the radical preacher who grew up in America but is now a fugitive in Yemen – used a lengthy article in an English-language magazine called Inspire to explain why the revolts sweeping the Middle East were not a setback for al-Qaida.

"Our mujahideen brothers in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and the rest of the Muslim world will get a chance to breathe again after three decades of suffocation," Awlaki wrote in an article entitled The Tsunami of Change. "It is our opinion that the revolutions that are shaking the thrones of dictators are good for the Muslims, good for the mujahideen and bad for the imperialists of the west and their henchmen in the Muslim world," reads an opening editorial.

The magazine is clearly designed to counter claims that the mass, largely secular, pro-democracy movements of recent months in the Middle East show the marginalisation of radical violent Islam within the Muslim world. "The outcome doesn't have to be an Islamic government for us to consider what is occurring to be a step in the right direction," the 39-year-old cleric writes.

Egypt Keen to Cozy Up To Iran, Hizballah

Following a purportedly pro-democracy revolution that many hoped would bring Egypt even closer to the liberal West, the country this week continued its slide in the other direction, into the arms of Islamist regimes.

Egypt’s new foreign minister, Nabil al-Arabi, told reporters in Cairo on Tuesday that he intends to reestablish ties with the regime of Iranian strongman Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Islamic overseers.

Palestinian Leader Would Choose Hamas Over U.S.

Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, widely hailed as a pro-Western liberal, would drop his relationship with the US in order to reconcile with the Islamic terrorist organization Hamas. American money, but if they use it as a way of pressuring us, we are ready to relinquish that aid."

This week, Abbas announced that he was ready to visit Gaza personally, putting his own life at risk, in order to mend relations with Hamas. Israel sees the overture as indicative of the Palestinian regime’s true intentions, as Hamas remains dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish state.

"Abbas has to choose whether he wants peace with Israel, or peace with Hamas," an Israeli government official told The Jerusalem Post. "He can’t have both. If he chooses peace with Hamas, it will bury the peace process."

Bloody Clashes Kill Over 150 in Somalia

At least 152 people have been killed during heavy clashes between Somali government troops backed by African Union forces and al-Shabab fighters in Mogadishu. Over 58 Somali soldiers died on Monday after bitter clashes broke out between al-Shabab fighters and the transitional government troops in southern Mogadishu's northern districts of Bondhere and Juba. Twenty African Union peacekeepers also died in the skirmishes, a Press TV correspondent in Mogadishu reported.

Nearly a million people have died following years of fighting between rival warlords and also due to the country's inability to deal with famine and disease. There are more than 1.4 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Somalia. More than 300,000 IDPs have been sheltered in Mogadishu alone.

China 'to Overtake U.S. on Science' in Two Years

China is on course to overtake the US in scientific output possibly as soon as 2013 - far earlier than expected. That is the conclusion of a major new study by the Royal Society, the UK's national science academy.

The country that invented the compass, gunpowder, paper and printing is set for a globally important comeback. Professor Sir Chris Llewellyn Smith, chair of the report, said he was "not surprised" by this increase because of China's massive boost to investment in R&D. Chinese spending has grown by 20% per year since 1999, now reaching over $100 billion, and as many as 1.5 million science and engineering students graduated from Chinese universities in 2006.

This describes "dramatic" changes in the global scientific landscape and warn that this has implications for a nation's competitiveness. According to the report, "The scientific league tables are not just about prestige - they are a barometer of a country's ability to compete on the world stage". Along with the growth of the Chinese economy, this is yet another indicator of China's extraordinarily rapid rise as a global force.

Syrian President Accepts Cabinet Resignation Amid Protests

Syrian state TV announced the resignation its cabinet and of Prime Minister Mohammed Naji Otari, but said he would remain in a caretaker capacity until a new government was formed.

Syria's cabinet resigned Tuesday in an effort to quell a wave of anti-government demonstrations in recent days which appear to be putting the leadership of President Bashar al Assad's 11-year rule to the test. Mr. Assad also accepted the resignation of cabinet leader Naji al Otari, but shortly afterwards named him caretaker prime minister.

Human Rights Watch says that 60 people have been killed since violence first broke out in the city of Daraa on March 18. The unrest in Syria could have implications beyond its borders. It's role as as an outspoken critic of Israel and an ally of Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon is seen by many western nations as a potentially destabilizing force in the Middle East.

Violence Escalates in Africa’s Ivory Coast

Thousands of supporters of Ivory Coast’s President Laurent Gbagbo enlisted in his army last week, fueling fears of renewed chaos in West Africa. Gbagbo’s refusal to accept his electoral defeat to Alassane Ouattara in the country’s November presidential election triggered bloody clashes between loyalists and Ouattara supporters. Rapes and killings, reportedly by Gbagbo’s forces, have left more than 400 dead. Over 50 people were killed last week alone. Gbagbo officials are encouraging young activists to join the army and fight against "the terrorists," or backers of Ouattara, whom the United States and the rest of the international community recognize as the legitimate leader.

Yemen Islamists Seize Southern Town, Kill 6 Troops in Center

Yemeni officials say Islamic militants have seized control of a southern town and carried out a deadly ambush on Yemeni soldiers in a central province, as Yemen's weakened president tries to deal with an escalating political crisis. The Islamist fighters captured a weapons factory and government buildings in the town of Jaar in southern Yemen's Abyan province on Saturday, initially facing little resistance from security forces who appeared to have deserted the area.

Elsewhere, suspected al-Qaida militants attacked soldiers in the central Yemen's Marib province on Sunday, killing at least six Yemeni troops and wounding four others. Officials say the assailants also seized a Yemeni military vehicle.

Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has faced weeks of daily mass protests demanding that he step down after 32 years in power. His security forces have engaged in deadly confrontations with opposition activists while also fighting al-Qaida militants who have used lawless parts of Yemen to plot and carry out attacks on the government and the West.

Hindu Extremism and Christian Persecution in India

ASIA/INDIA – Hindu and militant extremists united to sow terror among Christians, denounces an NGO Mumbai (Agenzia Fides) –There is a criminal alliance – between various leaders of the army and the Hindu extremist militia – behind the anti-Christian violence which has occurred in recent years in the States of Orissa, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, and which continues to occur.

The Catholic Secular Forum (CSF), recalls that a few days ago, Hindu extremist leader Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, who was arrested on charges of terrorism, openly admitted, when speaking with the judges, the fact that military officials were complicit in the violence in Orissa and in Karnataka. An earlier army report also revealed that general, Prasad Srikant Purohit, admitted taking part in the campaign of terror against Christians in different states, directing the armed militias of ‘Abhinav Bharat’, the Hindu extremist movement known to be involved in acts of terrorism and in conducting the massacres in Orissa in 2008.

According to information gathered by witnesses and reported by the CSF, the general wanted to form a "real militia with clear aggressive intentions against Christians. The objective was to strike the places of worship, leaders and to eliminate the basis of their presence," an extremist ideology that would allow only Hindus in India.

Netanyahu Puts Israeli-Arab Conflict in Proper Perspective

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took part in a global interview on YouTube this week, with questions for the Israeli leader coming in from around the world, including countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran.

In one of the questions, Netanyahu was asked if he thought the decision to build a few hundred more Jewish housing units in Judea and Samaria in response to the recent massacre of a Jewish family in the area would harm chances for peace with the Palestinians. The Palestinians claim all of Judea and Samaria as theirs, and insist they will not conclude a peace deal with Israel until Jews stop building there.

Netanyahu’s answer highlighted how the world is playing right into Islam’s hands by misrepresenting the conflict and ignoring its historic context. The Israeli leader insisted that the international community must stop looking at Jewish houses as being any different than Arab houses in Judea and Samaria since the territory is "disputed land – we have a historical connection to it."

For decades, the world has parroted the Arab line that Judea and Samaria are "occupied territories" to which the Jews have no real connection. Netanyahu disagreed. "Any one in his right mind knows that this is part of the ancestral Jewish homeland; it’s in the Bible."

Netanyahu also sought to remind the world that the exaggerated and artificially-perpetuated Palestinian refugee issue has a Jewish parallel that is typically ignored. "Everyone knows we can’t kick out 350,000 or 400,000 Jews from their homes [in Judea and Samaria]," said Netanyahu, noting that "many of them, by the way, were kicked out [from their homes in Arab countries] before the founding of Israel by hostile Arab armies."

Syrians Should Be Worried That Israel Has Been Blamed

Syrian dictator Bashar Assad addressed his nation on Wednesday, claiming that the unrest in the country is the product of Israeli and Western conspiracies to topple his regime. Syria is only the latest Middle East country to experience grassroots discord that the government fears could blossom into full-blown revolution, as it did in Egypt, Tunisia and Libya.

Scattered news reports are that dozens of civilians have been shot dead by Assad’s forces in cities across Syria. A more full and accurate picture is difficult to attain, as foreign reporters have been intimidated and harassed into compliance, and many have been ejected from the country.

That leaves Assad free to write his own narrative, and according to his version of what is going on, "Saboteurs are trying to undermine and divide Syria, and to push an Israeli agenda."

Those words are cause for concern for Syrians, as they indicate a steely regime that is prepared to fight rather than go down quietly. When an Arab dictator claims that the Israeli are trying to take over his country, it means he is preparing to deal harshly with those of his countrymen now labeled as collaborators with the "Zionist entity." If Syria goes into full revolution, it will be along the lines of the Libyan revolution, not the Egyptian revolution.

UN to Israel: Surrender!

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday reiterated that the world body expects Israel to immediately surrender to internationally-backed Arab demands that it relinquish all claims to the Jews’ biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria and half of their ancient capital of Jerusalem.

The Jewish presence in the so-called "West Bank," which includes the eastern half of Jerusalem, is "morally and politically unsustainable, and must end," Ban insisted during a press conference in Uruguay.

Meanwhile, the Palestinians are moving forward plans to unilaterally declare an independent state with the support of the UN, outside the framework of a land-for-peace deal with Israel.

Israel Deploys Anti-Missile System to South

Israel on Sunday prepared to deploy the first units of its recently-developed Iron Dome anti-missile system to battered Israeli towns within range of the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. The Iron Dome will operate by using an advanced radar to detect Palestinian missile launches, and will use small interceptor missiles to shoot them down. But Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is already warning that the Iron Dome will not be able to stop all Palestinian missile attacks emanating from Gaza.

Gaza-based terrorists have been firing an increasing number of short-range Kassam and more advanced Grad missiles into southern Israel over the past week. Last week, several missiles reached as far north Rishon Lezion and Yavne, towns just 10 miles south of Tel Aviv.

Netanyahu went on to stress that the only real solution is to create a strong deterrence and to hit Gaza terrorists before they have a chance to attack Israel.

There is a Message of HOPE for the WORLD!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even though everything we have discussed and shown thus far seems to depict a tragic and fateful end for our world, that is actually NOT THE CASE! The state of humanity's existence does not end in chaos or complete destruction at this time. Nor will these events leave the whole world in a panicked state of confusion, always to be frustrated in futile attempts trying to achieve a Utopian existence. The "Great Tribulation" period is only for a few short years and is merely a transitional period at end of an age. A NEW AGE IS COMING immediately thereafter!

"...SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT TROUBLED; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." (Matthew 24:6 NKJ)

"All these are the beginning of birth pains [sorrows]." (Matthew 24:8 NIV-KJV)

This is probably the most accurate representation of the entire "Great Tribulation" event. "Birth pains" are very discomforting and often quite painful. A new birth involves "labor" which is an extremely strenuous and exhausting process (ask any woman who has endured this). The end result however, is "relief" from this labor and suffering because a "new life" is then born!

That is exactly what will transpire in this world. We are in the final chapter of an old and worn out age of civilization. A grand and glorious new age lies directly ahead for those of us that endure and have accepted the Lord God.

"These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
(Revelation 7:14-17 NIV)

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ALL THESE PROPHECIES

Therefore, these sometimes frightening words of prophecy are really a harbinger of hope to those who are searching for God today. It is through the belief that Christ died for our sins (John 3:16) and faith in His second coming (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18), that we are all "saved" and will enter into the coming Kingdom of Heaven along with Him.

"For the grace of God has appeared that offers SALVATION TO ALL PEOPLE. It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:11–13 NIV)

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." (Revelation 22:20-21)
