Ah! The Smell of Spring. Love Is In The Air! Hm! Propaganda Too!

Updated on May 5, 2012

Yes, Spring is in the air! Blossoms are popping out. There is a rejuvenation of life. The birds are chirping. Flowers are doing their thing.

It seemed to be a good morning for reflecting. I decided that catching the sunrise on the deck with a cup of coffee and a crossword puzzle would be the perfect way to begin a Spring Day.

God has blessed my morning and I will enjoy my crossword puzzle and espresso.

But this is how a person's day can go awry.

This is how a perfect day and peace can be thwarted.

One can only take so much.

Now look at the picture above!

The moon is not perfectly round.

It's shaped oblong.

Oh well. I'll deal with it.

Here I am minding my own business.

I've put sunflower seeds and other seeds for the birds and squirrels to eat.

The morning is still pretty refreshing and peaceful!

One of the squirrels comes over.

Good morning Mr. Squirrel!

How are you today?

Now! You see that? Do you see the disrespect here?

I put out seeds for them that I have to purchase.

I don't have a sunflower ranch anywhere!

But just look at what I face most every day!

I do try to get along with the birds and animals here.

I invite them to come over for as much food as they want.

Is there ever a "thank you"? No!

They will even show you their "back door"!

But- it doesn't stop there.

I have asked for them to display a little affection- I don't mind -but come on now!

I don't need to see this first thing in the morning!

I think they're taunting me!

They know I live alone.

And of course I have to closely examine myself.

Am I angry?

Could this be jealousy?

Of course it is!

But why don't they get a room?!

No respect!

That's what could make a person angry all the time!

Plus the absence of "you know".

Now all of a sudden it's, "So what's up Micky?"

Just like that!

They carry on and on and on and think nothing of it!

Then - "Gee, I'm hungry!"

Well, that's enough to make a man angry right there!

Then- these folks come along.

They eat my grass.

They nibble my daffodils!

They'll chew the day lillies off the day lillies later on in the Summer!

But- they ignore me!

They eat my food - okay - grass, flowers, and act if I am not there!

Then? They just saunter off!

Not a "so long Micky" or a "by your leave"!

Mean and hidious animals as you can see!

Nope. Peace is still illusive!

My morning must be shattered, yet again, by this oddball!

Can you believe it?

Endless knocking, tapping, and pecking!

Then- he comes right over in my face!

He's eating my sunflower seeds and is flaunting the fact!

He's constantly looking at me!

I feel like Rodney Dangerfield!

There we go!

Give me the old "back door view"!

And the cycle just repeats!

"Go get another bag of sunflower seeds Micky!"

"You're getting low!"

Well- that's what I imagine them to be saying!

Still - I don't see how anyone can say I'm angry.

~Micky Dee~

Christmas Cardinals

Don't get me started about these Cardinals!

Let's not use psychology and the Bible against our people.

Let's not use terms like "always angry" or "always 'anything'"!

Confusion comes from the darkside.

Lies and psychology have no place to being used against our people.

Our people need to study the "books" a lot more.

God bless!

Hi Peggy. Yes ma'am. The possums and raccoons come by. I try to "exhaust" the outdoor supply of seeds for night-time. The possums and raccoons destroy my feeders. God bless you Peggy dear.

You do have a reason to smile every day when just going to your back deck and watching the antics of your resident birds, squirrels and deer. Any others like possums or racoons in the evenings? Looks like it would be a great place. Isn't nature great! Thanks for sharing these pictures of your Springtime from your backyard. Lovely!!! Up and beautiful.

Beautiful Hub, brotherman! Love it. Down here the weather is turning cooler by the day. Had lots of rain yesterday which hastened the cooling process. Fitful sun today. In a little while we'll be frucking feezing! But we don't get snow like you do, for which I'm grateful.

I am rather envious of those deer coming to your place. Would love to have some like that!

Thanks for sharing and I wish you lots of birds, squirrels and sunshine! Not to mention a favourable wind at your back while you ride.

      Love and peace

Hey darling Freya. The hub about the idiot bigots was pulled. It had too much truth on it. There is no "program" that took these hubs off of hubpages. The neo nazi foksw report it and it's taken off. Same with the 911 hub.

America is the land of censorship. It sure is to me. I've never had a newspaper "letter to the editor" published and if I tell the truth - it's censored. It is NOT a program that does it - it is the meanies- Satan's littler helpers. These folks are making an "end run" on the Earth.

God bless you Freya. I love you dear!

Hello, King Micky. I love the part when the Squirrel showed you his back. There where we are different: you angry for getting butt show, but I really happy when my baby cat turned her back at me and showed her butt, where her 'seems never stop wagging' tail attached, because that is mean I can start playing caught and run with her tail. Caused her bit her own tail in her effort of biting my hands! LOL

You do always 'angry', King Micky! Unless in the sight of those who stand across your way of life. They not able to appreciating your sarcasm mostly when they think it is had been directed to them. Made they think you are angry. I won't called it as angry, but fiery seem more fitted with it.

Everything come from God: Angel and Demon, good or bad, life and death, heaven and hell, luck and bad luck, etc and etc. If we blaming God for the problem or the disaster we get inside our life, we will miss the real meaning of the event, because I believe God created light and dark simply to make us grow and mature while have to face the colliding fate between two side.

Hi Granny's House! My camera isn't expensive. I bought it several years ago. It's a KODAK. It was just under $200. They're probably better now. I like the easy buttons. I am a little partial to KODAK . I just bought a tiny tripod. Also - a 16 gig card. I put the camera out on the deck awhile ago. That card will video an hour at least.

The way to draw them in is to be very still. Maybe almost napping. Don't move the arms a lot or stand or make any sudden movements. Thank you Granny!

Micky, fantastic fun hub. Loved every bit. How do you get the woodpeckers to come right to you? When I go out they will not come. Then as soon as I go in they are back. Do they get used to you being there if you are out there all the time? It has been too cold to sit out for a long time.

I wish my camera could take good shots like yours. What kind do you have?

Thanks for the heads up pintails. The cardinals are the birds most attracted, wrens, year round birds eat my sunflower seeds. Cardinals are down in NC. I didn't know those feeders were bad. I see people in the mountains of NC and TN with hummingbird feeders and I just assumed that they were absent in the winter from migration. I've seen hundreds of them in the mountains (hours from here). Thank you brother man!

I was wanting to make a spring comment to always exploring and to any others doing the same.

I am not a tree hugging hippy but I love nature. Please stop your use of humming bird feeders, plant natural flowers instead. Not only will the flowers attract more humming birds and other beautiful creatures, they also will not play a huge role in the destruction of this species we all love so much.

there is an ongoing study that will soon outlaw the use of hummingbird feeders and rightfully so. It is proven fact that numbers have dropped drastically in the years as use of these feeders become more and more widely used. It takes away their drive to migrate to follow the flower bloom's, not only does this cause them to stay in weather that is too cold for them, it also prevents them from mating and the pollination of not just flowers but fruit trees and many other things we all love so much. If you see a hummingbird in your area when there is no flowers around, that bird is going to die, not only that but it is not breeding. They can not survive cold weather, no matter how much sugar water you give them. Yes they are beautiful to look at, but not worth killing so you can see them when they should not be in the area. PLEASE STOP USING THEM. Plant flowers, then you have 2 beautiful things to look at with out killing one of them.

From reading your hubs I would say you are someone who believes in God. Which hub did the so called Christians not like?

My experience of people who judge others in how they believe in God, are not believers themselves. They just want to look good in front of others and the only way they know to make themselves look good is to criticize others.

So ignore them and carry on as you are.

      "Don't Blame God or Christ"

What a statement, when Christ Blamed God in his great time of need, as in fact did every other prophet of God. The Bible the Torah and the Qur'an are full of examples of even the greatest and most blessed men "blamed" God, I don't know of any examples of any one blaming Jesus in any of these works but yes they did "blame" God on many occasions. In fact I think to an extent God expects and even may in some cases want us to blame or question Him, so that he may show us the "light". Hey maybe that is the goal of the KKK as well, to just simply show some light.

But as you know God is sometimes to blame. Look at the story of Jonah and the Whale, it certainly was not Jonah's idea to live in a whale for a couple of days. Though, God was to blame for this certainly horrible experience, he was also to blame for the rewards in Jonah's life. Not saying all bad is from God, just simply laying out the facts as I see them from my very short years in this life interpreting them.

You know how I feel about the other stuff you covered on religion and to be honest, it is a lovely spring day here also and i would prefer not ruining it by stoking the fires in my belly for these people.

As for the animals thanks for the awesome laugh. The squirrels were great, and what a beautiful speckled woodpecker, I have one here that always eats out of the bird feeder i made, he loves it cause i cut down a cedar tree to mount it on and he is able to not only eat my sunflower seeds but also the termites from the log, as i left branches for the animals. We don't have many squirrels here where I live. But I use a nature mix for the local wild life that is like trail mix, i mean it looks good enough to eat it has peanuts, sunflower cracked and in shell, millet, grain sorghum, oats, raisins, and corn. Kind of pricey but it attracts all kinds of wildlife.

As always I have enjoyed this hub, thanks Micky you know how to make me smile, and I do enjoy that in a friend.

"KKK claim to "light" the cross, a positive thing in their eyes, not burn or destroy." I do apologize for slandering the KKK. I've heard that they are a sensitive bunch.

"Maybe that person who tried to hit you WAS a Muslim"- no.The dozens or so have been mostly Southern Baptists. Let's see- there were a couple of young fellows between Cope and North. They threw sodas at me. No - they were local good old boys. One KKK member is Free Will Baptist - or relatives would be. His brother's children are actually raised Catholic by the mother though. That would be the Woody boys.

Now the guys at the auto parts store in Micaville are supposedly KKK, but I can't verify that. Now these folks will put deer heads in your mail-boxes. They will drop off deer carcasses in your driveway, etc.

The fellow Saturday was drunk. He was a professional alcoholic. Alcohol was not on his breath but he was definitely inebriated. But then - it's March Madness. There is some basketball on the TV and sports always go better with booze. Course I'm imagining some stuff here but not near as bad or as confining as what some Christians have done. Not one Muslim has ever framed me for a crime that I did not commit. Christians, as a group, have. No Muslim. Now prison or the chain gang is worse than being accosted by a driver of an automobile.

Again, please extend my apologies to the KKK.

If only black people had known that the KKK were only providing illumination.

What would they be emphasizing if you received a deer-head in your mail-box, a rotting deer carcass in your driveway, and an illuminated cross in your yard?

    • profile image

Just a couple of things ab't that other hub: KKK claim to "light" the cross, a positive thing in their eyes, not burn or destroy. Just saying.

You really don't know for sure who is who. Maybe that person who tried to hit you WAS a Muslim, we really don't know the truth about where people's hearts really are. Major problem w/ Christianity is that even they don't know what true Christlike living is or what they are supposed to do to know God. We have so many diversions in daily life and divisions in the churchs, it takes time to find the truth and most won't give it any effort. That's why you've been taunted by Christians because they really aren't labeled correctly. Even Satan himself once was an angel and therefore knows how to make himself appear as an angel of God. We shall know them by their fruits. Actions speak louder than words, huh? Great hubs, Michael. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Jesus Christ. Everyone has their path and their time to know. It can be different from the next person.

Hi Brynda dear! It's just that it's people like Newt Gingrich, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Richard Nixon, etc. that are the problems. Throw Obama in there and whoever else you want, but the American children are not the problem. It's the American adults. Religion is just way too personal and some people and their religion are way too crazy for me to endorse the religion of anyone, to put in a school-house, until we get the boundaries nailed down.
