The Horror of Child Sacrifice in Uganda

It is almost unbelievable that in this day in age, and at the time of writing this, the 13th of October, 2011, that child sacrifice still exists today.

In Uganda, thousands of children fear travelling to and from school; they are frightened to leave their homes.

Worried parents look on anxiously, but still children are abducted and brutally murdered, in the forlorn hope of making someone instantly richer.

Money is at the centre of the rise in child sacrifice, which came to the fore only 3 years ago.

As Uganda's fortunes rose, so did the greed, and the unholy belief that killing children ritually would make someone even richer.

As indeed it has, a whole network of Ugandan witch doctors must be very rich indeed on the monies they have taken from people under the mistaken belief that the killing of a child, and removal of the internal organs and/or blood, would somehow increase their fortune.

Any why are the police and government bodies so silent on the issue of child sacrifice, an unholy and vile satanic ritualthat should have gone out with the Dark Ages?

According to a recent BBC report, police corruption and political apathy are being blamed for allowing Uganda's so-called witch doctors to escape prosecution for what is nothing less than child murder.

Uganda's Anti-Human Sacrifice Police Task Force have stated that there have only been 38 cases of child sacrifice in the whole country since 2006, which is in stark contrast to official police figures which state that 1 child was sacrificed in 2006, 25 in 2008 and a further 29 in 2009, making a total of 55.

Pastor Peter Sewakiryanga of the Kyampisi Childcare Ministries Church in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, disputes those figures, and states that more child victims have been lost in his parish alone than the official figures for the whole country.

According to UK-based charity Jubilee Campaign, the true figures are much higher, and claim Uganda police have a backload of over 900 cases to work through.

The head of the Anti-Human Sacrifice Police Task Force, Commissioner Bignoa Moses, denies that his task force are incompetent, saying that if someone accuses someone else of carrying out human sacrifices, they interview the suspect but don't arrest them without proof.

Isn't it frightening to think that such a task force is even needed in a country in this day and age?

So far, they have made no arrests.

If the police make no arrests, does that mean there are no victims?

Unfortunately, no.

Mukisa

A 3 year old boy, identified only as Mukisa, was found barely alive with his genitals hacked off. Prompt action by surgeons saved his life, and he was able to identify his attacker as having a 'shrine', which is something all witch doctors have.

No-one was ever charged over this attack, which has left his family fearful for his future without his manhood and in need of cosmetic surgery.

Stephen

A 6 year old boy named Stephen went missing from his home. 24 hours later his decapitated body was found in a nearby field.

His grandmother told the BBC that police refused to prosecute the local witch doctor even after he had admitted to the crime.

She was then offered hush money which she refused.

Robina

18 month old Robina was found with her throat cut. Her parents now take their other children everywhere with them.

Allan

9 year old Allan was abducted by a witch doctor who tried to decapitate him and slashed off his genitals. He was then left for dead.

Amazingly, he was found in time and saved by the skill of surgeons. He now suffers from slight brain damage caused by the machete that slit his skull. Because of this damage, police discounted his accusations when he named his attacker as a local witch doctor, known as Awali.

The BBC sent undercover reporters to Awali, claiming to be local business men in need of some luck.

Awali offered to sacrifice a human child for them, at a price, telling them he had sacrificed many children and knew what he was doing.

Another witch doctor has given up his murderous ways and now actively campaigns against child sacrifice.

Polino Angela recently admitted to carrying out 70 child murders, including his own 10 year old son.

Frighteningly, this man has told of the presence of a network of witch doctors throughout Uganda, with the lower orders paying money over to the higher orders.

The Head of The Anti-Human Sacrifice and Trafficking Task Force, Moses Binoga, has admitted they are aware of this network.

What are they doing about it then?

James Nsaba Buturo, Uganda's Minister of Ethics and Integrity, told the BBC

"To punish retrospectively would cause a problem... if we can persuade Ugandans to change, that is much better than going back into the past."

Which means that Polina Angela will never be prosecuted for the murders he has admitted to carrying out, because he is now helping spread the word against child sacrifices.

Children are considered impure and unsuitable for sacrifice if they have scars or marks on their bodies. This includes pierced ears and circumcision.

I would not promote circumcision so it would seem to the simplest thing to do is to have your baby's ears pierced - both male and female.

10 year old Shaifk was abducted and taken to a shrine to be sacrificed, but when his clothes were stripped off, he was found to have been circumcised.

As a result, his life was spared, although he is now in hiding with his family.

Pierced ears with bright eye-catching earrings should be enough to put a witch doctor off, if he was thinking about abducting your child.

International pressure must be brought to bear on the Ugandan government to force them into taking child sacrifice seriously. Simply appointing an Anti-Human Sacrifice Police Task Force that never makes arrests is simply paying lip service to address the issue.

The world demands an end to this barbaric, horrific practice, and demands an end NOW.
