Don's World - 200601 - You Can't Fix Stupid

This is just my third article and I have already learned a few thing that I need to work on.

The first, is what am I doing when I get Comment? Well, I appreciate ALL COMMENTS, and I will respond to each one, regardless of whether it is done today, or six months from now. Presently each article is a single entity, but I do land to perform some level of regular consolidation in the future.

Just bear with me and keep on commenting.

The phrase "Stupid Is As Stupid Does" was mde famous for most od us by its usage in the movie Forrest Gump in 1994. But it's use can be traced back as far as 1862. Simply put, this old lexicon has several variations on the true definition; but the one O prefer is from the URBAN Dictionary, which is;

"It means that an intelligent person who does stupid things is still stupid". You are what you do.

Thinking back, I guess I first heard an adult proclaim someone to be Stupid was when I was very young, around 5 or 6 I think. And even then, it was a revelation to me because it explained so much about these strangely inconsiderate or non-thinking people I grew up around.

Once I realized there were Stupid people in the World, I first thought, well, they couldn’t help themselves. Then, as I grew older and as I listened and recognized a there was a larger population of these Stupid people in the World; I realized this wasn’t true at all.

From my years of observations, it seems that these Stupid people are invariably self-centered and often even narcissistic about themselves. They all seem to be more interested in; what they like, what they want, and what they have to do to make the rest of the world do things their way.

Don’t get me wrong though; because at one time or another we have all done something that ranks as being Stupid. And honestly, we will most likely do something stupid again and again over time.

You see, I’m not talking about these rare occasions when someone, anyone in fact, just has a "bad moment" and does something that they should have known better than even considering much less actually doing.

And the same goes for that rare Stupid statement that slips out of your mouth before your brain can stop you.

Again, everyone has probably done something Stupid at one time or another. And I fervently believe that the probability of someone having a “stupid attack” is increased dramatically, the more alcohol they drink. But that's another subject for discussing in the future.

So, when I think to myself; “You Can’t Fix Stupid” I’m not talking about the people who make do or say these occasional stupid things.

No, I’m talking about those truly lifelong, hard-core Stupid people who always wear their personal armor which they think protects them from the need to be; considerate and thoughtful or kind to others as they go through their selfish lives.

You know who i'm talking about; those people who continuously say and do stupid things and when you look into their eyes, you realize that there is something seriously wrong with the operational equipment behind them.

These are the hardcore Stupid people of the world that can’t be fixed.

OK, OK, just wait for me to finish. I’m not talking about people who have mental handicaps, or low intelligence levels, or possible even brain damage. Absolutely not!

I’m talking about people who can think and make logical decisions but strangely, only use them if it advances their chance for their own personal gain or satisfaction.

Their problem is that they are living their lives based on a set of twisted lifestyle assumptions and they truly do think what they are saying or doing "the Right Thing".

I can only advise you that, when you run into one of these hard-core Stupid people, you should try to get away from them immediately.

You see, they really can’t be "fixed".

You need to accept the reality that; regardless of what type of argument or irrefutable logic you may lay in front of them to consider, they are not going be diverted from their personal Stupidity.

Luckily, any intelligent person will quickly realize that these people are part of our incurably Stupid population and when you recognize them, you should stop arguing with them, about anything.

A normal person will always, eventually realize that this person only believes in one way of life and that is; It's My Way, Or The Highway!.

A Test for Stupidity or Ignorance

One more thing I have to mention is that there are also a lot of people who are, for one reason or another, just ignorant of how bad or dangerous what they are about to do really is.

There is a noticeable difference between a Stupid person and an Ignorant person.

From my experience, an Ignorant person just hasn’t been shown the logic of making a common sense decision; or in other words, they were operating and thinking based on poor data.

On the other hand, the Stupid person has been exposed over and over to actual facts, and historical examples of reality but even then none of these things will sway a Stupid person from their deluded ideals;

But, when the Truth is presented to a person who is just Ignorant of the facts; generally speaking, they will listen, ponder the reality of what they have just learned and usually they’ll come around to accept what has been presented to them as being true.

Now, don't get riled up! But wouldn't it be nice if we immediately developed of a device for detecting whether a person is a hard-core Stupid person or not.

By now, you are aware to the temperature testers which are now used around the world that gives a quick indication of whether a person had a high temperature, and if they do, they are immediately tested for whether they have the CoVid-19 virus.

Well, why can’t we have one these devices that we can just wave in front of a hard-core Stupid person’s forehead, and if it detects a high level of Stupidity, then the person can be immediately placed into a quarantine facility and be put through a re-education process?
