When a person has all they need...
When a person has everything they need, does this bore them, or turn them into philanthropists? What would you do? This Hub is answer to this question asked by Edlira on HubPages 02/27/2011.

The very first thing that popped into my head, and heart was; then I would be able to find more ways to help others who do not have enough.
Boredom is not a problem ever. I can always entertain myself. Sometimes I exhibit tendencies of ADD. Sweetsusieg first published the "shiny things" problem, I am in complete agreement.
We only have a certain allotment of seconds and minutes in each day. Mine is probably an odd-ball opinion, but I do not think, human beings going faster is the solution to humankind's destiny. Are we so desperate to go faster, that we are mashing atoms? Slowing down, and caring for our local areas is a wise course to consider.
For those who feel they have everything they need, to keep from get bored, they can cure that boredom by getting involved with helping to spread resources to others. The community, neighbors, the Village. .

There were sure times, I did not think I had everything I needed.
The kicker is I survived. Making it to five decades, made me realize I did get what I needed every day I witnessed another Sunrise, or Afternoon sounds. Each day that I wake up and have a roof over my head, a warm bed to sleep in, food to eat, am healthy, can see, hear, walk - I count it all as bonus.
I am heavily influenced by some of the Rolling Stones songs, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, has crooned for decades, "You may not always get what you want, but you always get what you need. " (I think that is mostly true). I sang it until I believe it.

Is it odd that generally people with lower incomes, poorer communities and even States (in N. America) who struggle often are the first to reach out and help someone else, or a cause that is struggling. Those who have had to host, hostess, or serve food and/or alcohol, are the better tippers.
If a person owns a decent small business, they often pay their employees better than the big outlets?
Philanthropists are the ultra wealthy who use their freedom to develop in other aspects of society, by helping those less fortunate. The many who do not have everything they need. The Administrative Assistant that has one child, and takes home enough from her much deducted paycheck, to feed her child, but not her all the time. In the land of Plenty, Gracious Skies and Majesties, there are many people going hungry.
