Grand Old Party Viewed by the Underclass

Updated on July 17, 2016

September 10, 2010

When I see republicans, independents, rhinos, yellow dogs, blue dogs, and democrats join forces to diminish the success of the President, I see a weakness in our strength . America is on the verge of a great calamity .We may never get our country back after an economic collapse . Everybody agreed we were in a recession that if not thoughtfully managed could have changed America forever .There are some who don’t care or think about what would replace what we have here in America .They would say anything is better than what we have now .We all got guns and two weeks rations . We will become Road Warriors until Allied ships arrive and restore their order .

Americans have throughout history supported their President during National crisis . This crisis is more destructive to our way of life than any external enemies .After 9-11 even democrats who felt that the Presidency had been stolen, supported the president. Many disagree with the President’s choice of action, but in a national crisis it is the Commander in chief’s lead .We opened a war on two fronts . Decisions were made quickly and support for the wars were unfunded . We are still in both wars today . We hope to disengage soon, but not declare victory .

The reason given for not supporting President Obama are ridicules and a danger to our nation .The republican senate and congressional leaders should be more articulate in their opposition .They should be able to speak in paragraphs not talking points . I would really like to know how a 700 to 900 billon dollar tax break for the 2% riches people in America will help the other 98% of Americans. The opposition is childish and without substance. Where is the jobs? Why is the jobless rate not under 8% like he promised? The opposition knows the answers, they know that if they oppose everything, the President will find it hard to do anything. They are surprised he got anything positive done. The economic mess caused by 2 unfunded wars and tax breaks for the rich, topped by the wall street bailout made the Presidency unattractive for the Grand Old Party.

Because of the hate and fear and disrespect of the President the rest of the world will sale green technology and we will import it. Everybody involved know the right thing to do is support our President’s obviously good ideas, even if they are good for our economic recovery. What’s good for the president is not bad for republicans. If Obama fails it want be good for America or republicans. We are all in this together and to alter, abolish, diminish, or weaken the presidency, weakens America. The opposition should support the president and the American people. The GOP should wait their turn, it may come again. They lost the Presidency and control in 2008. They understand what that means, it mean that they are not in control. When they were in control, things got out of control. The way it is you can’t control from the side lines. Republican ideas are not considered guidelines. Support the President as did the democrats and even if the President is wrong as was W., you can still get another chance to lead, later. Show yourself as good Americans.

The Elephant is weaker than the Donkey these days and a live dog is stronger then a dead lion.

    junko,

I have been at this game (writing on the internet) for over 10 years and I have probably received several thousand "put downs" in my comment sections.

However, I have never deleted a comment to me -- just because it was "nasty" of expressed a view that was different from my own. That's not my style.

Feenix, You will grow stronger as you live longer because you have the will to debate. There are some right leaners who will delete aposing comments for fear of failure in debate or being exposed as an empty vessel. That happened to me twice yesterday and this leaner has did it before. A dictator like that I can't respect. A man that can except that he could and have been wrong, in public, is a good work in progress. You are such a man Feenix, and also a friend from the right.

    junko,

    Yes, you are exactly right.

Recently, a good friend of mine told me that I need to take the cotton out of my ears and put it in my mouth. I am going to follow her advice.

I am going to start doing a lot less talking and lot more listening.

Religious and Political discussions sometimes end friendships. Respecting and listening promotes interlectual growth, you learn with your ears, you learn nothing talking. I'll be listening.

    junko,

I am friendly here because I consider you to be a friend. You have always conducted yourself like a gentleman with me. It is I who have been impolite at times. I think it has to do with the mood swings that I have been going through since I quit drinking :-)

Feenix!, You and your opinions are always welcome in my domain. I agree with your opinion about the flack white male Presidents has endured from opposing parties, news media, and various citizen groups. In my opinion the flack Obama is getting is much more intense than any other previous President of the United States of America has ever experience. No other President's Presidency has got less support from both houses of congress. There is no respect for the office of President, and I'm not going to play the race card, but it is what it is. I came in 47 and didn't know I was here until 50 I lived and experienced what you did, but these times are different and the people or different, smarter but weaker. Those in their 40's don't know hard times And Americans have never known hard times without jobs since the WPA work program. Maybe you are right and we will rebuild Railroads Utilities, and our nation's instastructure and the people will have jobs and be happy ever after. Thanks for stopping by and talking, you proved yourself friendly

    junko,

In my opinion, Obama has not received any more flack than any other president has. I mean, like, I have been around ever since Truman was president and every one of them since he held the office came under attack by such factions as the opposing party, the major media, and various citizens' groups.

Being under siege comes with the territory when one is president. And that is why all of the men who hold that office always age demonstrably while they are on watch.

Also, when the Great Depression was happening, many thought that marked the "end of America as we know it". But the nation did go on to recover and I am confident that it will recover from the current economic crisis.

How? I don't know. But during my rather long lifetime, I have often seen solutions to problems suddenly appear from out of the blue.

Mimi721wis, You're on tour of my hubs, huh? I'm glad. It's shame on the American people for supporting an agenda that's bad for America. We have problems that need to be dealt with in another way, and with no agenda, just problem solving. Thanks for stopping and reading.

It sad when the GOP's main agenda is to make sure the president doesn't get re-elected. The American voters are no better when we refuse to call them out for such nonsense.
