Investigating Trump - The End Game

Updated on May 18, 2017

I'm on the right side of politics and enjoy a good debate on government, the economy, common sense, and the rights of the people.

The Department of Justice, under intense pressure from Democrats, announced a special counsel to oversee the FBI’s investigation of possible Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential Election. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed ex-FBI Director Robert Mueller on Wednesday May 17th to the position. Attorney General Jeff Sessions had previously recused himself from the investigation, leaving the task to the Deputy Attorney General. Rosenstein will hand Director Mueller the many months of data, which to this point have revealed no illegal activities by the Clinton or Trump campaigns with respect to Russian involvement.

Democrats are currently celebrating what they consider is a huge bombshell-type of a win, however it’s unlikely that anything new will emerge. This comes on the heels of James Comey’s firing by President Trump. Comey, the former Director of the FBI has made claims that he took notes and prepared a memorandum from a conversation that he had with the President in which he claims the President asked him to close the investigation on former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. Deputy Attorney General had previously stated in a written press release that “based on the unique circumstances, the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command.” Mueller has agreed to resign from his position in a private law firm to remove any indications of conflict of interest.

James Comey

As FBI Director, James Comey previously confirmed publically that the bureau was investigating a possible Russian connection into the election and whether Trump officials were involved. The investigation began in July of 2016 but that he withheld briefing Congress until recently, claiming it was too sensitive to share with the elected body. The CIA was also doing a similar investigation along the same lines, but unlike Comey, the CIA Director was investigating whether Russian cyber-attacks were aimed at disrupting the American Electoral Process, not as an attempt to get Trump or Clinton elected or defeated. Much of the hype around the FBI trying to pin the Russian angle to Trump was formulated after the massive data breech of unsecured data at the Democratic National Committee. What the news failed to report was an attempt to breech the Republican National Committee was also made, but the RNC had a more secure system and wasn’t compromised.

In the waning days of October, the FBI has not found any evidence of a link between Trump and the Russians. Yet, the continued stream of e-mails being released by several hacking groups, WikiLeaks being the most prominent, led some analysts to abandon their logical investigative methods, instead concluding without hard evidence that Putin was trying to harm Hillary Clinton, and thus by default “working for Trump.” It’s a well-known fact that Russian President Putin and Hillary Clinton are adversarial and have been more many years before Trump entered the Presidential election. This dates back to when Hillary was Secretary of State under the Obama administration. One interesting angle that didn’t receive much media attention is the fact that many government officials felt the agencies were pushing too hard to pull a Trump-Russia relationship from thin air, in an attempt to help Hillary Clinton win the election.

NO Evidence, NO Proof, NO Links to Russia

At this point, there are no links connecting President Trump to the Russians. There are numerous media outlets which claim circumstances “prove” the connection, but under United States Law, these are inadmissible. Another point is that polling data shows that the leaks and negative stories about Mrs. Clinton were not enough to sway voters to the Trump side of the ballot. Yet, without any hard evidence, the Democrats continued the Russian interference angle to this day, more than 100 days after the President has been in office. The media which leans strongly Left, has been an avid supporter of the steady stream of innuendo and unsubstantiated accusations throughout the entire process. So, we can expect another few months of this distraction while the newly appoint special counsel has a chance to review the data. What we can expect during that window is a steady stream of stories from the media which appear to support the ongoing unsubstantiated claims, complete with talking head interviews, political posturing and outright lies. This is not surprising to anyone who has been following the tactic and strategies of the Democratic Party over the years.

Disrupt the Agenda of the President

The end game of this negative media blitz is multi-faceted, with each tactic working toward neutering President Trump from being able to implement his agenda; one which is focused on building a border wall, bringing jobs back to America, and strengthening our military. The Democrats have historically used obstructionist tactics, especially with the court system, to delay any real progress put forth by the Republicans. It started with the delaying President Trump’s Cabinet choices for as long as possible; a process which took longer than any President in history. Using most procedural tricks, the Democrats in the Senate slowed the process down to a crawl. They again tried to block the confirmation of President Trump’s Supreme Court pick, but were summarily shut down when Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell used the same nuclear option as former Democratic Majority Leader Harry Reid did during the Obama administration.

Media Supporting the Attacks no Longer a Secret

The latest attack on the President has already caused huge ripples throughout Washington and the media is working hard to amplify the rhetoric about the President being impeached. Yet, no proof of anything illegal has been brought to light. What’s even more surprising is that those bringing the litany of unproven accusations against the President know that they are false. A recent article in one of the major newspapers led with huge headlines, but later in the story actually printed the truth that what the President did was totally within this right as President. It’s also being circulated that former FBI Director Comey has a trove of documents that will hurt the President and that he is now seeking revenge on the highest elected official in the nation. Comey must realize that he’s playing a dangerous game by making accusations at that level.

Democrats Only Care About Democrats

The President is quickly finding himself alone on an island, with Obama-era deep state insiders willing to leak anything and everything in an attempt to take him down. His agenda is currently stalled, which falls right in line with the Leftists plans. The civil unrest that was perpetrated by masked Liberals in an attempt to silence free speech has subsided for now. There are no guarantees that it won’t resurface once the independent counsel finds no indication of a Russian connection. President Trump has been treated worse than any elected official in the nation’s history and it should be considered deliberate sabotage and those involved prosecuted, but it won’t be. The Democrats are blatantly disregarding the functioning of the nation, dealing with threats, managing the federal bureaucracy, and all other national concerns just to play politics.

The End Game is Anti-American

America can understand the fact that the Democrats are angry over their recent loss. They see the wasteful and useless social programs of the Obama administration being shelved and dismantled, and they aren’t happy about it. They see illegal aliens self-deporting because of the strong stance the Oval Office is taken on border security, thus depriving the Democrats of future voters. They watch as their armies of indoctrinated millennials riot in the streets, attack other citizens, and stifle free speech without saying anything against it. They’ve even come to the point where they refer to themselves as the “resistance,” as if somehow indicating America has been taken over by a hostile foreign power. They’ve even made the false claims of patriotism, when in fact their ideologies are as far away from patriotism as possible. The only loyalty Democrats have is to their Party, not America. Perhaps that’s why they have been losing seats at all levels of government from local all the way to Federal levels.

What the outcome will be is anyone’s guess at this point in the process. The Democratic Party appears to be on the brink of extinction, allowing themselves to be destroyed from within by the hardcore Leftists. The media of the country isn’t trusted by anyone anymore and have exposed themselves as nothing more than an extension of the power-hungry Liberals. The continued assault on the President won’t end up as a good thing, regardless of how the Democrats try to spin it. Voters are watching the violence, the attack-dog tactics, the relentless made-up smear campaigns, and they are speaking loudly and clearly at the ballot box. President Trump defeated Hillary Clinton because she was considered untrustworthy in the eyes of the common American, not because of a Russian conspiracy.

That is true, and at the same time she doesn't do the diversion, attack, name calling and other attributes of the kids on the block:)

In an ideal world, we could discuss the merits and objections to any subject including politics, but this is an ideal world.

Brad, Cochran is nothing by a “drive by” hubber.

She’s always wrong and disappears as soon as you challenge her bs. Somehow she figures if she doesn’t defend her quips she’s won some sort of contest to spread misinformation. She is the face of what “left wing” means.

Kathleen never has a follow through, she never explains her statements much less supports them.

The democrats created the Trump cloud starting during the election campaign and just kept building on it. It helped them in 2018 election, and they want to ride that home to 2020. It is a political advantage for the democrats as they have no real political platform.

Unfortunately, the republicans are getting their lunch money taken away by the democrats.

So here we are America - we've spent millions of taxpayer dollars and countless hours investigating this so-called Russian Collusion and not a shed of evidence points to the President. The Democrats have promised to turn up the heat on investigating the President only because he is winning. The Midterms did provide them with the means to carry out these investigations, but to what end? We've already seen manufactured evidence, open voter fraud, and pit-bull tactics on his Supreme Court nominees.

The more he succeeds, the more everyone is exposed to the fact that we don't need lifetime politicians to run the nation and apparently business leaders are better at managing the economy than lawyers. Look for the next two years to be a roller-coaster of sensational headlines and investigations which won't add up to anything but "noise"

R.S. Hope U don't mind me posting this here. Sent to me by a friend in Florida. I'm told it is all FACT CHECKED & verified. I think it's marvelous.

Liz Crokin is an award-winning author, a seasoned journalist and an

advocate for sex crime victims. Liz began her journey at the

University of Iowa where she received a bachelor's in journalism and

    political science.

"Trump Does The Unthinkable" by Liz Crokin

Donald Trump is a racist, bigot, sexist, xenophobe, anti-Semitic and

Islamophobe -- did I miss anything?....yup&brkbar; he is also

deplorable. The left and the media launch these hideous kinds of

attacks at Trump everyday; yet, nothing could be further from the

truth about the real estate mogul.

As an entertainment journalist, I've had the opportunity to cover

Trump for over a decade, and in all my years covering him I've never

heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was

running for president. Keep in mind, I got paid a lot of money to dig

up dirt on celebrities like Trump for a living so a scandalous story

on the famous billionaire could've potentially sold a lot of magazines

and would've been a Huge feather in my cap.

Instead, I found that he doesn't drink alcohol or do drugs, he's a

    hardworking businessman.

On top of that, he's one of the most generous celebrities in the world

with a heart filled with more gold than his $100 million New York

Since the media has failed so miserably at reporting the truth about

Trump, I decided to put together some of the acts of kindness he's

committed over three decades which has gone virtually unnoticed or

    fallen on deaf ears.

    • In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill's family

farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned

down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow

money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill's pleas for

    help in news reports.

    • In 1988, a commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick

Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get

medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support

system. His grief stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he

didn't hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los

Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.

    • In 1991, 200 Marines who served in Operation Desert Storm spent time

at Camp Jejune in North Carolina before they were scheduled to return

home to their families. However, the Marines were told that a mistake

had been made and an aircraft would not be able to take them home on

their scheduled departure date. When Trump got wind of this, he sent

his plane to make two trips from North Carolina to Miami to safely

return the Gulf War Marines to their loved ones.

    • In 1995, a motorist stopped to help Trump after the limo he was

traveling in got a flat tire. Trump asked the Good Samaritan how he

could repay him for his help. All the man asked for was a bouquet of

flowers for his wife. A few weeks later Trump sent the flowers with a

note that read: We've paid off your mortgage.

    • In 1996, Trump filed a lawsuit against the city of Palm Beach,

Florida, accusing the town of discriminating against his Mar-a-Lago

resort club because it allowed Jews and blacks. Abraham Foxman, who

was the Anti-Defamation League Director at the time, said Trump put

the light on Palm Beach not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its

seamier side of discrimination. Foxman also noted that Trump's charge

had a trickle-down effect because other clubs followed his lead and

    began admitting Jews and blacks.

    • In 2000, Maury Povich featured a little girl named Megan who

struggled with Brittle Bone Disease on his show and Trump happened to

be watching. Trump said the little girl's story and positive attitude

touched his heart. So he contacted Maury and gifted the little girl

and her family with a very generous check.

    • In 2008, after Jennifer Hudson's family members were tragically

murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her

family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that,

Trump's security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family

members were safe during such a difficult time.

    • In 2013, New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to

the edge of a bridge staring at traffic below as he drove by. He

stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved

her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this

story, he sent the hero bus driver a check simply because he believed

his good deed deserved to be rewarded

    • In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tamoressi after he spent

seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico

border. President Barack Obama couldn't even be bothered to make one

phone call to assist with the United States Marine's release; however,

Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his

    • In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully

thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on

stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later

she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her

darkest days she explained that she received a handwritten letter from

Trump telling her she's the bravest woman, I know. She said the

opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately

provided her Mexican-American son with a full-ride to college.

    • Lynne Patton, a black female executive for the Trump Organization,

released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations

that he's a racist and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she's

struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of

kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his

entire family loyally stood by her through immensely difficult times.

Donald Trump's kindness knows no bounds and his generosity has and

continues to touch the lives of people from every sex, race and

religion. When Trump sees someone in need, he wants to help. Two

decades ago, Oprah asked Trump in a TV interview if he'd run for

president. He said: If it got so bad, I would never want to rule it

out totally, because I really am tired of seeing what's happening with

    this country.

    That day has come.

Trump sees that America is in need and he wants to help. How unthinkable!

On the other hand. have you ever heard of Hillary or Obama ever doing

such things with their own resources?

Now that's really unthinkable! Might be worth passing on!!!

I hope you're right, it would be a great coup to expose the media and break the spell it seems to have on masses of people!

Hopefully the Comey testimony and his admission that President Trump was never under investigation will put a stop to most of this inflammatory rhetoric coming from the President's political enemies. The media was shown to be printing false information, the FBI Director clearly showed he was no longer qualified to be the leader of the Agency by his action of leaking information and his inaction of reporting an attempt by Loretta Lynch to steer the Clinton investigation (He is supposed to immediately bring any attempt to obstruct justice to light)

You didn't understand my point. What is absurd and inappropriate here is that a reporter would ask a sitting president "have you done anything illegal recently?" or words to that effect in a press conference. It's insulting and offensive. How would you like it if you were doing a presentation, and in the Q&A somebody asked you, "so, have you ever broken any laws?" or something like that. If it was me, I would probably say "no, and everybody I know thinks so." It's just something you say to protect yourself when you're being verbally assulted like that. Perhaps it's just me, but I thought the reporter was being inane and degrading. There are many other ways he could have gotten to the information he was seeking.

Carolyn, Those interview questions and answers show quite clearly just how self-delusional Donald Trump is. To say "Everybody thinks so" - meaning that nobody believes that he has done anything worthy of impeachment - is obviously absurd, because there are plenty of people in the US who think differently. If they didn't, the interviewer would never have asked the question - whatever his motive for so doing.

Perhaps by "everybody" Trump means only those people whose opinion he values - which clearly does not include anyone who dares to question what he says or does.

If you have ANY doubt that the media is trying to damage Trump, just read this exchange. More the second question than the first:

CBS News coverage of Donald Trump’s press conference

SCOTT THUMAN (ABC News 7): Thank you, Mr. President. In light of a very busy news week, a lot of people would like to get to a bottom of a couple things, give you a chance to go on record here. Did you at any time urge former FBI Director James Comey in any way, shape or form to close or back down the investigation into Michael Flynn? And also, as you look back —

    TRUMP: No. No. Next question.

THUMAN: Next question. As you look back over the past six months or year, have you had any recollection where you've wondered if anything you have done has been something that might be worthy of criminal charges in these investigations or impeachment as some on the left are implying?

TRUMP: I think it’s totally ridiculous. Everybody thinks so. And again, we have to get back to working our country properly so that we can take care of the problems that we have. We have plenty of problems. We've done a fantastic job. We have a tremendous group of people. Millions and millions of people out there that are looking at what you have just said and said, “What are they doing?”

Oh you mean Hilliary, Kathleen's candidate who made laughably false statements regarding her familiarity with classified-information protocols, including the whopper that she did not know what “(C)” meant — even though it is the designation for information classified at the “confidential” level, ubiquitous in classified documents. Prosecutors routinely use false exculpatory statements to prove mens rea in a criminal case. (Relatedly, Clinton also told the FBI she could not recall being briefed about retaining government records and handling classified information even though she signed a form acknowledging that she had been so briefed on January 22, 2009.) Moreover, in newly released book Shattered, about the 2016 Clinton campaign, authors Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes relate the story of how Clinton directed a trusted aide to download the server from her failed 2008 campaign in order to peruse stored staff e-mails so she could figure out who leaked to the press.

Her mishandling of classified information was knowing and intentional, as well as grossly negligent. Many reasonable prosecutors would salivate at the prospect of taking such a case to court, especially if they knew that Clinton was going to run with a “lack of intent” defense.

Ralph it's hard to believe no one is talking about Hilliary's known crimes and why she isn't being prosecuted but the news of the day is and has been for months investigations of Trump's connections to Russia for which investigations to date even a year old we know have revealed NO evidence of collusion.

AHA, more hit and run by Kathleen - isn't that what they call a troll?

You got that right Ralph. But the Democrats just shot themselves in the foot calling for an independent counsel. They should have been careful what they wished for because now that investigation will be behind closed doors, all in private. Their whole strategy with the Russian thing was to detract attention and action from healthcare, tax reform, immigration, everything Trump has on his plate but now that will fade away from the limelight because indepent investigations are conducted in total privacy.

The Russia investigation isn't of Trump because after more than a year of it there is no evidence whatsoever of collusion as testified to by Feinstein and Clapper (three times most recently a week ago). It is an investigation into what Russia did to try to influence our election but you wouldn't know it given the way the media reports it and anonymous unsubstantiated leaks (like the Comey notes they are going nuts over which don't exist and the fact that Comey testified to congress that the administration never tried to influence his investigation twice recently!)

Trump has no one to blame Kathleen? What a liar you are. You, people like you, who have loony left agendas and no respect for the truth are the blame for everything that is wrong with America and for this witch hunt which when it is over and nothing is found to incriminate Trump I know you'll not be found anywhere near that conversation for the fear of being laughed off Hub Pages by anyone who can reason.
