Is America on the Brink of Socialism

Updated on November 21, 2009

United States, God, Family, Radicalism, and Socialism

A few days ago, a naval officer shared his thoughts with many Although, these are his opinions, it might behoove the American citizen to research and ponder the content.

During the Presidential campaign, many thought the Democrats would nominate Hillary Clinton. However, they chose a more hard-left candidate. So some, Obama did not appear as a Democrat; but more of a Marxist. It seems he is far to the left of any European leader, even our own far left party; the New Democratic Party.

Rules for Radicals: A Pragmatic Primer for Realistic Radicals is the last book written by community organizer Saul D. Alinsky before his death in 1972. The book was Alinsky's attempt to impart his theory and methods or organizing to the current generation of young activists, largely drawing upon his own experiences.

William Charles “Bill” Ayers, born in 1944, is an American elementary education theorist and a former leader in the movement that opposed U.S. Involvement in the Vietnam War. He is known for the radical nature of his 1960's activism, and his current work in education reform, curriculum, and instruction. In 1969, he co-founded the Weather Underground, a communist revolutionary group that conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings during the 1960's and 1970s. Currently he is a professor in the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds the titles of Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar. However, a controversy arose about his contacts with candidate Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential campaign.

David Joel Horowitz, born 1939, is an American conservative writer and right wing activist. He is the son of two life-long members of the Communist Party, and a former supporter of Marxism, as well as a former member of the New Left in the 1960s. Horowitz later renounced his “left-wing political radicalism” and became an advocate for conservatism.

According to 'allaboutphilosophy.org' Marxism is an economic and social system based upon the political and economic theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles. Marxism is summed up in the Encarta Reference Library as “a theory in which class struggle is a central element in the analysis of social change in Western societies.” Marxism is the antithesis of capitalism as “an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production and distributions of goods, characterized by a free competitive market and motivation by profit.” Marxism is the system of socialism of which the dominate feature is public ownership of the means of production, distribution and exchange.

After the student radicals failed in creating a Marxist revolution in the United States by violent means, they embraced Alinsky. Strange, but “Rules for Radicals appears to outline how Hillary and Obama planned to get into power, and what they intended to do once they achieved this power.

Socialism is not the correct descriptor for what Obama and the Democrats are doing. Instead, they might be much more far reaching than anything Sweden has ever been able to do. It appears that Obama is following Alinsky's plans, set out in "Rules for Radicals.”

The Democrats seem to be attempting to create a one party rule in the U.S. If they succeed, a crisis after crisis could be created by their own actions, and they could use those crisis to nationalize the means of production in the U.S. American might be in the middle of a communist revolution, and few American citizens can actually see it for what it truly is.

As it appears, the U.S. is now on the path of financial destruction. The Constitution appears to have been shredded, and individual human rights trampled. In less than eight months, some believe President Obama has used a recession to take over the two largest industries in the U.S. They also suggest that he will debase the dollar, and is on the road to creating an incredible energy shortage that will allow him and Congress to take over the energy industry.

But, by and large, perhaps the Democrats will have gerrymandered electoral districts to the point that it will be impossible for them to lose control of both houses of Congress. The incredible increase in the nation's money supply could create Zimbabwe- and Venezuela-style inflation, and with it, controls on the currency and the amount of money that can be taken out of the country.

The American public may have created a situation whereby they are going to lose their Republic and slip into an age of repression and tyranny.

It's been proposed that when the storm finally hits (and it just might), those who supported the Obama administration will be affected as well. They suggest it won't just be the American gun owners or Flat-Taxers, or Pro-Lifers that get hit.

Many believed Conservatives were nut cases, for example, the ones who believe in God, small government, the Second Amendment, etc. These same people thought they could just go back to sleep after the election was over, and America would continue as before. People would still have the same rights, the same nice house, and the same big screen television. After all, the neighborhood high school football team won and the other team lost - go team! Many suggest, even if people have bothered to look up from the daily grind, since Nov 4th, they dismissed everything that has occurred as "politics as usual-the same old stuff".

In the end, it'll all be okay, won't it? Perhaps not this time.
