Nanny Bloomberg Again Bless His Heart

Updated on March 19, 2013

Emperor Bloomberg's Latest Edict!

Who's Your Nanny? Who's Your Nanny?

How in the world a left wing loon named Michael Bloomberg got elected confounds me. It has to be because of the billions he has in bank accounts. I reckon that sort of money will buy a ton of votes. Then as I watch in wonder I begin to contemplate which planet he lives on. Is New York City a planet where the citizens have to put up with this guy?

Thinking about inch worms sets in. You know give a liberal wacko like Bloomberg an inch and he'll take a mile consuming all logic along the way that gets in his path. He has the type of nanny mentality that if you give him just a minor concession he'll want to turn it into an avalanche. Doesn't he realize that most of the people around him are capable of making their own decisions without his help?

Just a couple of days ago the New York Supreme Court struck down his "Big Gulp" law fiasco as being arbitrary and capricious. Did he get the memo?

It Would Be Funny If He Wasn't So Pathetic!

The abortion pills to a 12 year old was over the top. Do those kids have parents or just Blooming Idiot? Then the Big Gulp fiasco made him the laughing stock of this nation but he just ignores it like he knows that. Then there was the gun control issue. He wants all those gang members and thugs in his city, not to mention Al Qaeda members living there, to outgun his citizenry. Oh yeah, that makes a lot of sense. But don't disarm his body guards. He's more important than the average New Yorker you see.

Now cigarettes and tobacco products are in the Nanny of all Nannie's sights. Aren't cigarettes still legal in this country? Was the soda ban the inch that was given that he wants to stretch to Nanny infinity? Help me out here! Nanny B wants to ban the presence of cigarettes in the front of stores or storefronts. Sound like another arbitrary and capricious move to me.

This guy just pushes the envelope whenever he gets his Hitler mustache waxed. His latest proposal before the city council would only allow tobacco to appear for restocking or when a consumer asks to purchase cigarettes. How absurd and I don't even smoke.

Then a second bill goes even further off the cliff and plans are to introduce this nonsense at the same time tomorrow. NO COUPONS will be allowed Nanny Staters. Don't even try to save any of that hard earned money. The city wants it instead. Oh it goes even further. The bill wants to put a price floor on tobacco products. What does that do? It is intended to drive consumers out of the market. And it will require tobacco products to be packed more cheaply for whatever reason that needs to be done.

This starts to beg the question about Bloomberg's brand of stinking thinking. Does anyone know what the sexually transmitted disease rate is in New York City? Is he going to start mandating who can do what to whom, where and what packaging will be required for those physical gymnastics? The federal government is already deep into the contraception controversy. Is Bloomberg going to follow suit? I'm just askin...

If this isn't more liberal government overreach I don't know what is. Here's what one critic of this latest nannyism had to say: “I don’t disagree that smoking itself is risky, but it’s a legal product,” said Audrey Silk, who’s affiliated with a smokers-rights group that has sued the city over previous regulations. “Tobacco’s been normal for centuries. … It’s what he’s doing that’s not normal.”

Normal and Bloomberg are purely oxymoronic. The proposals will be thinly veiled as "in the interest of public health." Adults are adults and are perfectly capable of making their own decisions regardless of what Bloomberg has to say or proposes. Next thing you know he'll be looking in your refrigerators New Yorkers. Who elects these people like Bloomberg, Cuomo, Schumer and Gillibrand.?. Is there any wonder why the whole state is going down the tubes and bankrupt.

"Vote It," "Like"It, "Tweet" It, "Pin " It, "Share It" With Your Followers. Time to let em read it and keep reading it.

As Always,

The Frog Prince

I would think that a good shrink would have a field day examining Bloombergs thinking and reasoning methods. He or she could probably sell lots of books when the findings are reported.

Hi Susan - The latest is that he is going to install surveillance cameras throughout NYC to snoop on the populace. This whole gig with all of them is becoming a bit Orwellian.

Hi Frog! This is a great satire on Bloomberg. Some of his audacious moves in office astound me - even if he is in his own liberal element in NYC. I love NYC and know one thing, they may be liberal as a whole, but they do not want to be told what they can and can't do (though they don't always have much control).

I want all government out of my personal life. If I want a Big Gulp, I will drink one! If I am a shop owner, I will display those smokes in the front because I know most of my customers are coming in just to buy a pack or two. How stupid!! He is mayor, not the Founding Fathers' revisionist - God help us all!!

While I am on my mini-rant, I would appreciate it if the First Lady would put the MSG back in my Progresso soup. BLEK!! I'd also like to pack my kid's lunch with a Ding Dong or Twinkie, now that they are coming back, without being chastised by my school system. GOOD GRIEF!

      A GREAT READ!! Thanks!

he seems to me to be off his rocker.

i understand his opinion and viewpoints but they aren't logical

and no one else seems to agree with him on the courses of action he wants to take

Voted up and sharing with others

It is interesting what people will put up with if they think it is supposed to be in their own best interest. Personally, I can't believe the people are putting up with this man. I worked a long time to become a competent adult and really enjoy making my own decisions - good and bad.

      Enjoyed your hub.

poetvix - God gave us all "free choice." It seems Bloomberg wants to take that away.

You go Frog. As I smoke, I wonder who does this pompous, bossy, know it all think he is? He's more like a silly little overdressed king calling out dictates based upon no more than his own over inflated opinion. America is about freedom and that includes the freedom to make what some see as a bad choice. If this guy gets his way, next he will be telling us what to wear, what to think, and how high to jump.

Now I'm depressed. I think I'm going to have a giant glass of Diet Coke and a smoke. Maybe that'll relax me.

It almost sounds like Bloomberg is now thinking like the King of a Kingdom rather than the mayor of a city. It makes me wonder what his next target will be.
