Rats in the Pakistan's parliament
Rats in the national parliament
Are you scared of rats? Yes!
Sorry, Pakistan's national parliament is not for you...
Perhaps, the only way there is to become a rat-killer.
According to sources there is a batallion of about 50000 rats in the parliament.
Most of such mini-parliamentarians have made kitchen, cafeteria and lodges as primary lodges.
This was disclosed in the latest meeting of National Assembly Standing Comitee on Food Security and Research when the MNA Dr. Fauzia Hameed pointed a rat in the hall. Later, it was disclosed by Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Chairman Dr. Yusuf Zafar that the rat population exceed 50,000.
Dedicated budget for rats
The management might take the issue seriously and there are plans to allocate a dedicated budget for their decent evacuation.
How rats annoyed citizens of Peshawar?
Prior, in April 2016, authorities in Peshawar launched an operation against rodents due to increased public complaints. According to reports, rats as large as cats were found by Peshawarites and there were incidents of them attacking humans and killing a child.
Rats in US Politics
The issue had also plagued US officials in the past. 17th President of US Andrew Johnson was famous of his love for mice and used to feed them on his table. Barbara Bush, wife of President George H. W. Bush, was once accompanied by an enormous rat in the White House pool. And, President Jimmy Carter turned pale when complained about the smell of dead mouse in his office.
Perhaps, rats as parliamentarians?
Back to Pakistan! There is a need to consider the issue before rats demand a say in parliamentary debates.
