Terraforming the Planet Earth

Updated on March 20, 2013

Terraforming (literally, "Earth-forming") of a planetary body is the process of deliberately modifying its atmosphere, temperature, surface topography or ecoogy to be similar to those of Earth to make it habitable by terran life forms - that is making a planet suitable for humans and other life to live on.

A lot of thought has been given to terraforming other planets to make them suitable for colonisation. While this well and good, it seems ironic seeing as we spend a great deal of time and resources making the Earth UNSUITABLE for life to continue. Surely the sensible place to start is with the Earth.

This is a continuation of my series of hubs called "LIving Without Cruelty". In it I shall be taking a closer look at human needs and how we can meet them
