Did You Hear?

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Our soulful friend ,Praying Mantis Manny, is here with me at the breakfast table. He is very concerned about the breakdown of conditions in Iraq. Please join Manny for breakfast this morning. He has some news that he thinks you should know about. Luscious warm banana bread and refreshing Bloody Mary's are on the menu.

Skating on "ISIS"

Thank you all for joining me this morning. Let me get right to the heart of my concern. President Obama told four members of Congress that he did not feel he had any need to obtain authority from Congress to deal with the crisis in Iraq. Given his failed track record of dealing with Iraq and his poor judgement that led to this crisis, he will be making, yet another monumental mistake," going it alone." The situation in Iraq poses a great threat to security right here at home. Perhaps someone should tell the president just how dangerous ISIS radicals are in their increasingly successful efforts to establish a terror stronghold. There is no question that we are skating on thin ice when it comes to our safety. The reason may surprise you. Thousands of Europeans and some Americans are traveling into Syria and Iraq to join the fight.

Tourism Terrorism

NBC News chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel is reporting on the increased terror threat Americans face from ISIS. He has reported that US Intelligence officials have told NBC News that the current terror threat against US targets is extremely high. Let's hope President Obama tunes into Richard Engel, so that he can learn about the danger. That is, after all, his preferred method of learning about important issues. At present there are about 70 American nationals that have joined ISIS. What will stop these Americans from returning home and continuing the fight on our shores?

Over 2,000 Europeans have also made the trip. Young disaffected Muslims are leaving Europe to fight in Syria and now Iraq. The number of these "terror tourists" is high and rising. Europe is talking about this problem. I haven't heard much, if anything, about this trend right here in America. Then again, without a free press, most Americans remain blissfully clueless about so many issues. President Obama clearly falls in that category, as well. I think he needs better advisors. Valerie Jarrett just can't do it all by herself!

This crisis needs input from Congress. Although President Obama doesn't see the necessity of involving those who represent the American people, there is a real need to address the growing crisis in the Middle East. Think about it. Radical Muslims are traveling to the Middle East to join forces with other radical Muslims. They will become adept at terror while they are there. Eventually, many of them will return home. They will enter America, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy with a desire to keep the jihad going. They will be doing it on the soil of their adopted nations and the outcome will be devastating.

Put down the Pen and Phone

It is time for the federal government to start functioning again. We don't have the time to listen to the nonsense spewing out of the mouth of Nancy Pelosi. We don't have time to sit through President Obama telling the nation that "by every economic measure, we are better off now than we were when I took office. You wouldn't know it, but we are."

We don't have the luxury of listening to impossible statements like this. We are in trouble, deep, deep trouble. We are in trouble economically. We are suffering through a dangerous invasion at our borders. We have a president who trashes the rule of law and the Constitution at every turn. We are consumed by scandal and now our safety is at stake. The time to act is now. Wakeup Congress, America is on the verge of becoming a third world nation. Wake-up voters, your country is falling into ruin. It is now or never....

Manny's Song

The moment I wake up

Before I stretch my wings

I say a little prayer for you, America...
