The Bill of Rights, What Don't You Like About It Dear "Progressives"?
Dear "Progressives",
I've heard that some of you don't like the Bill of Rights. That you would like them dumped. Which ones do you find horrific and what would you have in their place? For example:
Would you rather that the I Amendment said, Section 1. "Congress shall make laws respecting a certain politcally correct religion and prohibit the free exercise of any religion they do not agree with. The press shall only say what the Government gives them permission to say, and all assembling together no matter how peaceful will not be tolerated. Section 2. Any violation of the above shall be punishable by death"?
How about if the VIII Amendment said, "Excessive bail and cruel and unusuable punishment shall be the fate of any U.S. Citizen that runs afoul of the Law, no matter what the crime." Would you like that?
Would you find it pleasing if the XIII Amendment said, "Any U.S. Citizen shall have the right to enslave another U.S. Citizen no matter if a crime has been committed or not."?
Perhaps you would like it if the XIX Amendment said, "All women are hereby denied the right to vote or All men are hereby denied the right to vote."!
May I offer my suggestion. The next time before you start bashing the Bill of Rights, why don't you find out what they're all about first! Because F.Y.I. oh Elitest most of them are about protecting human rights!
