Racial Revenge

Two men, Jake England, 19, and Alvin Watts, 32, were arrested by Tulsa, Oklahoma police as suspects in killing of 3 people and the wounding of 2 others. Police discribe the shooters as white and the victims as black. They plan to charge the shooters with murder and other charges. The victims were apparently chosen at random as revenge killings for the death of England's father. According to the, Tulsa Word, England's father was shot in the chest fighting an intruder who broke into his sister's house. His father was killed. The intruder was black. Therefore the revenge.

The intruder is currently serving time for the crime.

It Hard Not To Go Off!

England wrote on his Facebook page "It's hard not to go off," given the anniversary and the death of his fiancée earlier this year. His fiancée killed herself in January they'd recently had a baby.

Family friend, Susan Sevenstar, states England is a Cherokee Indian, that the shooting were not a racial thing, that "He didn't care what your color was. It wasn't a racist thing." (as if Cherokee Indians can't be racist. They owned black slaves during the slavery era).

Facebook Update

In an update, Thursday, on his Facebook page, England blamed his father death on a black man, referring to him using a popular racial slur (sounds racial to me). Then Watts and England go and seek-out and shoot innocent black victims! So much for the shootings weren't a racial thing.

Coming on the heels of the Trayvon Martin killing, I'm sure many blacks feel safer knowing that these killings "weren't a racist thing".

There are many people like Susan Sevenstar, well-meaning, but have their heads in sand when it comes to race and don't want to see the obvious. They want to attribute the motives for these crimes to anything but race. It's like they have a racial phobia.

I would say that if England used a racial slur on his Facebook page, where the whole world can read it. He used it in his daily life too, around family and friends. Maybe he was so torn-up and distraught over his father's death, that it caused him to use a racial slur and kill innocent black people who had nothing to do with his father's death. That would still make these racial crimes wouldn't it?.

Nine Point Six Million Dollar Bond

England and Watts were held on a 9.16 million dollar bond each. They were charged with three counts of murder and two counts of shooting with intent to kill.Good! We can't have people going out randomly shooting people because they're mad can we? I thought you'd agree!

Were these racial crimes?

What's your view on the subject?
