What Should We Do About Islam's Takeover?

Updated on January 12, 2012
Source

There is a disturbing video that has been posted on You Tube called Muslim Demographics. It provides lots of statistics and shows how the world is changing and how Muslims will become a predominant force in the world in just a few short years.

So far, there have been 13,208,836 views of this video. Comments have been disabled. The caption under the video states:

Islam will overwhelm Christendom unless Christians recognize the demographic realities, begin reproducing again, and share the gospel with Muslims.

Please take the time to watch the video and then read the discussion that follows.

Discussion

It certainly is scary, isn't it? "France will be an Islamic republic" and Germany "will be a Muslim state in 2050". The world is being overtaken by Islam and we need to act now.

Before we act, we need to make sure we check the facts and think through the results of our actions.

Is it true?

The video provides dramatic music and a lot of statistics, many of which are projections. Statistics can be used to confuse people and skew results, but projections can do that even more. Projections, just like weather forecasts, are not necessarily accurate because there are so many other facts that can't be taken into consideration. Since I don't have any statistics to back me up, let's just assume that they are accurate. I think we should leave open the possibility though that they are not.

We should also be cognizant of the fact that the statistics are skewed. We are told about the birth rate of Muslims in one country, France, but not the other countries. It is quite possible that these Muslims come from a country where a high birth rate is common. I am pretty sure that, over time, the Muslims in France, as they become more French, will stop reproducing at such high birth rates. My personal experience is that Muslims in general do not have more children than other people who live in the country.

What is it implying?

Second, let's think about what is being implied. Islam is taking over the world is the implication that I get when I watch the video. I acknowledge that this video does not mention the words "Radical" and doesn't call all Muslims terrorist, although there is an implication with the quote from Moammar al-Gadhafi.

There are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam without swords, without guns, without conquests. We don't need terrorists, we don't need homicide bombers. The 50+ million Muslims [in Europe] will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades

We need to remember that the Muslims who are moving into the European countries, and North America are coming from many different countries, and they are coming legally. They are coming from diverse places such as Algeria, Syria, Somalia, Turkey, Pakistan, and India. They bring with them the unique cultures of the countries from which they come. They are not united and are not trying to take over the world. There isn't a plan to turn Europe into a Muslim continent. Just like in the Colonial days and ever since, people are moving to provide a better life for themselves and their children. They are settling into the countries, getting educated, getting jobs, and overall becoming American, German, British and French.

Call to Action

What should we do about all the Muslims that are immigrating to the western world and changing the demographics?

The video has put out a call to action. The heavy drum beat does stir up the adrenalin to do something. What action will help?

According to the blurb under the video, one action is to have more Christian children. This could help, but it will take some time and might put a financial burden on some families. This solution also has some inherit risk, since it assumes that the children will espouse the Christian ideology and not become secular or convert to some other religion when they grow up.

The other action is to share the gospel message. This could work, I suppose, if you can convince others that your ideology has more merit than whatever ideology is currently being followed by the individuals. It seems though, that it would be more effective if sharing the gospel message is done because it is helpful to others and not as an act of desperation. Because there is currently a deep hatred and fear of Islam in the western world, it is unlikely that Christians will be able to convince many Muslims to convert.

What should we do about our changing demographics?

It is difficult to sit idly while the demographics are changing. There are certain things we should do. My suggestions are as follows:

  • Get to know the religion and the culture. In order to more effectually reach them, we must know their strengths and their weakness. Instead of relying on propaganda and hate speech, we can get to know the truth for ourselves. We can find out that Muslims believe in the Old Testament and believe in the same God as Christians.
  • We can get to know them as people. By actually meeting them and talking with them, we can find out their intentions and their struggles. By accepting diversity, we might actually teach each other new and better ways of doing things.
  • Understand that change is difficult, and that the new immigrants will need time to adjust to their new environment. You can't expect them to give up all of their old ways overnight. History tells us that it will happen with time. The Germans that came to the United States during the potato famine are now Americans, even though they share a German heritage. Just as we no longer hate the Germans, hopefully we will stop hating the Muslims over time.
  • By stirring up hatred, we are setting ourselves up for a third world war. Even though some Christians feel they are fighting the war of ideology, in an attempt to stop the changing demographics, all this hatred seems like it will spill into blood. If it does turn into a war, it is one that is bound to be fought on our own soil against our own neighbors. We can avoid that by becoming good friends and neighbors.
  • Understand that change happens. Throughout history, people have moved from one place to another. Nations have risen and fallen. Fighting with the Muslims is not going to change the tide.

Muslim Demographics

The world continues to change, as it has been since Adam and Eve walked on the earth. Some changes have been embraced, while other changes have been more difficult. Throughout time, we have had to deal with people who are not like us, and yet it seems that we do not learn from the mistakes of the past. By thinking about the changes, and how we can make sure that we are prepared for them, maybe we can avoid some of the costs that are associated with change.

Clearly you are writing from a Christian point of view. In the UK more than 50% of people dont believe in any god.

France was the first country in the world to ban the burkha and prosecuted two women for wearing them last year. It doesnt look like France is becoming more muslim does it?

In the last 20 years, non believers in the UK have risen from 30% to over 50% so England is not becoming more muslim either.

Muslims have been perpetuating this propaganda for years. It is not true.

If you also look at the direct correlation between a countries average IQ and a countries level of religiosity, it clearly shows that the more advanced a country is, the less religious it is likely to be.

I dont think you should worry about muslims taking over anything. Since you are a christian, you will probably be worrying about the decline of christianity?

To me christianity or islam is pretty much the same thing. An unfounded belief that makes people do things that are wrong. Like shunning other societies because they are different.

Jesus wuz. Did you personally conduct the poll? Did everyone in Britain vote? and nobody wadded it up and threw it in the trash where most polls belong? I heard that there are no atheists in foxholes. Two world wars and you still want more foxholes?

      @Druid Dude

It was conducted by the BBC. I wrote a hub called "decline of religion in the UK" that explains some of the surveys.

Living in the UK it actually feels like the number of 50% is too low. Out of 100 taxi drivers that I know, only about 10 of them are religious and 6 or 7 of those 10 are muslim.

They assume the newborns will automatically adopt their parents religious views... just because a person is raised to be of a certain religion does not mean they will be...

Jesus was a hippy - this hub was directed at Christians because the video seems to be from a Christian point of view - at least by the person who uploaded it. There are more atheists and secular people that came from all different religions.

Druid Dude - if you convert now, then you too can become part of the majority. Getting your own prayer rug would be a good first step.

Phoebe - I guess to counter the odds, you should have even more children, in case some of them turn towards the wrong religion or become atheists.

Here's an idea... how about we teach our children to make their own decisions and not worry if their choices are not the same as ours?

Why does it matter what religion they choose to be at all? Isn't acceptance better than judging people solely on their religious views?

Yes Phoebe, that is exactly what I am saying. We need to accept each other and not just tolerate out differences, but realize that our differences are what makes the world a richer place.

Spreading the Gospel and evangelizing is more important than procreating more for the sake of Christianity. Also, more than just focusing differences of religions, strength of faith is more important. There will always be countries open to religious changes and there will be those that are not.

jpcmc - thank you for your comment. As the world becomes more global, we need to be more accepting of each other's religions, and not try to convert everyone to our way of thinking.

You're right Word Pools that there is a global trend for almost anything - even religion. It's still beneficial to share religious belief and talk about faith with other people having a different religious or spiritual background. Enriching one's faith is being able to understand others as well.

That's a good point jpcmc, talking to people about your religion helps you solidify what your beliefs are, and helps you practice the tenets of your religion about neighbors. Hopefully, it will help you learn about the other people's religions and find out that most of your values are exactly the same, and you believe in the same God.

@ Word pools. In the end, it is beneficial to agree to disagree rather than take it too personally. I know a lot of people who are so determined to insist their spiritual and religious views. Unfortunately, instead enriching one's own spirituality it simple breeds ill feelings not just to the person but to his/her religion.

jpcmc - I too know people with whom I cannot discuss politics and religion. They are not interested in hearing my opinion, only in telling me why I should simply believe what they believe.

Personally, I like learning about different points of view, because I like choosing the best ones for myself.

Well I found this all very interesting. I am a Christian and yet I had no fear the Muslims were taking over the world before or after watching this video. If we (christians) really believe in an Almighty God who sits on the throne, then there is no need to be popping out babies in a race to be equal with the muslims. To me it is a video that reminds me along the same lines of white supremacy. Jesus is reaching to Muslims just as He is reaching to all for salvation, it doesn't matter where you came from and where you end up geographically. Great hub!

calico Stark - thank you. Your insightful comment makes me feel much better. There are many books, videos, etc., out there that are spreading that kind of message, and I am glad that there are people who are smart enough to realize what they are doing, and have learned from the lessons from the Nazis with the Jews to not fall for it.

Slave of The Creator The One True God 4 years ago

First of all, even if you had the ability to control the immigrant Muslim population and relevant birth rates, you will NEVER be able to stop the spread of Islam. People are starting to realize the difference between the TRUE message of Islam and what the biased media propagates and the actions of some bad Muslims. Since 9/11, Islam is spreading at an unprecedented rate in west, majority of the converts are WOMEN! Women are known to be the backbone of any society as they play a major role in raising tomorrow’s nations. True guidance to Islam comes from the Lord of Worlds, The Creator, The God of all the prophets including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all)- THE ONE TRUE GOD. We Muslims only spread the message but do not FORCE anyone into Islam. The individuals decide whether or not they want God's guidance and God is the ONE who guides them to the truth once they are sincere in finding it. Majority of the converts come from Christianity and atheism. The true religion of God is CLEAR and universal. There is no confusion. The trinity does not make sense, God did not become a man as He is nothing like His Creations and belief in no God is outrageous! Jesus, like Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, John, Lot, Jonah, Solomon, and Muhammad, was a messenger of God and did not claim divinity. There is ONLY ONE God and we should worship Him ALONE! This is the message of Islam.

I invite you all to study Islam with a sincere heart and you will see that it is the ONLY way of life that fits with one’s spirituality, logic and reasoning. Islam means submission to the Will of The One Almighty God. Submit to The Creator and NOT any of His creations. Follow the way of ALL the prophets and worship The Creator Alone without partners.

If you truly want to know about Islam, you may visit www.shareislam.com and Christians can also add www.911bible.com This is for a start. Read the Quran with an open heart and you will see that it is truly from God Almighty Himself

May God guide us all to the Truth.

Allah promised victory to All the Muslims. Islam will take over the world for sure as peple are guided to the truth You will never be able to put out the Light of Allah.

Allah says (translation of the meaning)

''Allah has decreed: 'Verily! It is I and My Messengers who shall be victorious'. Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty.'' [Quran 58:21]

"Allah has promised such of you who believe and do good deeds that He will surely make them to succeed (the present rulers) in the earth even as He caused those before them to succeed (others); and He will surely establish for them their religion which He has approved for them, and will give in exchange safety after their fear." [Quran 24:55]

“So do not become weak, nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers.” [Quran 3:139]

Islam is the ONLY religion that will be accepted by God.

      Allah says (translation of meaning)

"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion". (Quran 5:3)

"If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah (God) never will It be accepted of Him" (Quran 3:85)

"Abraham was not a Jew nor Christian; but an upright Muslim." (Quran 3:67)

Thank you all for reading this message.

I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, and Muhammad (peace be upon him) was His servant and messenger
