Willie Nelson Country Music Legend For Nobel Peace Prize Farm Aid, Peace Revolution, about Willie Nelson

Updated on March 12, 2011

Willie Nelson For Nobel Peace Prize

I pride myself for being a big fan of Willie Nelson but not just for his incredible song writing and music. If you only hear and read the negative press about Willie, I would like to take a few moments to tell you why Willie deserves to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

Willie has been a long time supporter of family farms in America. Willie, John Mellencamp and Neil Young started "Farm Aid" back in 1985 and since 2001 Dave Matthews has joined them on the Board of Directors. Farm Aid is a non-profit organization which has raised over 37 million to promote strong family farm systems of agriculture for better food for America!

Willie's biggest fan!

Willie Nelson Peace Research Institute

Long before 9/11 Willie's daughter Amy had a dream about Willie singing a song about a peaceful resolution.  Willie emailed Liz O'Garvey and Jay Greathouse an audio file of "A Peaceful Solution" and the Willie Nelson Research Institute was created.  Here you are invited to make your own peace video with permission to use Willie's audio file.  You are allowed to perform in it, record it and even change the lyrics!  The instructions are included in the link below.

Sincere thanks for your comments. I have always loved Willie but after being fortunate enough to meet him in person a few times after concerts here in New York, I realized what an amazing human being he is. He is not only a great singer/entertainer/song writer, he does so much for our country. Not to mention, he loves and appreciates his fans!!
