    What are your views on the anti-police riots taking place in Tottenham, North London?

    Mark Duggan was shot dead by police on Thursday 4th August 2011, two days later riots have broken out in Tottenham, North London. So far it is being said that Mark Duggan had fired a shot at a police officer, the bullet was fired at the officer's chest but luckily bounced of the officers badge. Another police man then opened fire on 29 year old Mark and shot him twice killing him. Since then a massive riot has broken out and shops have been looted, fires have been set, including the burning of a double decker bus and two police cars, and many have been injured including a dozen other officers.

    I struggle to understand why the bloke had to carry a gun in the first place.

    The area does have a long running association with racial tension

    However having spoken to a friend who grew up in that area of London they've told me the guy was a low life that no normal person had any respect for and many have said they're actually glad he's gone and it seems that the local young people have used his death as a catalyst for the rioting.
